I'm talking about new shows..no ALTAR BOYZ, I LOVE YOU YOU'RE PERFECT, NAKED BOYS..
I saw the matinee of THE FOUR OF US today, and while it wasn't the best thing I've seen, I enjoy that type of content that can only be seen off-Broadway. One of my best theatre experiences was off-Broadway (SPEECH & DEBATE)..I bet there's some fantastic stuff playing now.
What's good off-Broadway now? How's FROM UP HERE? CRIMES OF THE HEART? ADDING MACHINE? Shows at the Public?

go see THE ADDING MACHINE. I've heard some mixed reviews but, for the most part, extremely positive!
I have also heard some encouraging things about MY FIRST TIME.

I saw ADDING MACHINE yesterday afternoon with jaystarr, WithoutATrace, and Greekmusicalfan.
It is very dark and chillingly different. I highly recommend it. A fierce, top notch cast, and music that reminded me a lot of Sondheim.

You said that right~ WBaF-ADDING MACHINE. If you like Sondheim style ala Sweeney Tood & Passion style with a bit of Parade & Caroline or Change. This is your show. Its very dark & bleak, but it would make you leave the theater - thinking more about it. I am still thinking of what is that musical I saw yesterday!
I will post my 10/10 Report on ADDING MACHINE later.. I saw these off-broadway musicals -N2N, Gone Missing, Make Me a Song, Celia and I must say....ADDING MACHINE is probably the best Ive seen in the bunch!

Adding Machine is great, so different and bleak but I love it. Its one of the best shows I've seen this year period, on or off broadway.
I'm seeing My First Time soon, I've heard good things about it from friends who have seen it already.

I LOVED Fuerzabruta. Performance Art. It's exhilarating and all emotion and reaction. I find it cathartic and near-spiritual.
For just a silly, fun and eye-popping entertainment: JUMP. They bill it as Jackie Chan meets Charlie Chaplin. Great for all ages. (Although I wouldn't go during a matinee as I fear it would be packed with kids.)

Posted: 4/13/08 at 8:25pmI second the folks who loved Adding Machine! From Up Here is also a little gem, an honest, emotional story with some wonderful actors, including Julie White. Today I saw Little Flower of East Orange at the Public, and even though this play is not without its flaws, it is well worth seeing; Ellen Burstyn and the others in it are amazing and will bring you to tears.
