A documentary chronicling the casting of the current Tony-nominated revival of A Chorus Line will likely arrive in theatres in May 2008, coinciding with the launch of that show's national tour.

That's Mr. TooDarnHot to YOU, wicked_beast4
I'm just going to forget about your comment. I wouldn't want to get in a betch fight with someone that has "wicked" in their username. and gets mad at me for thinking it's gross that Mario Lopez gets his own section of the Documentary.
#8re: What's happening with the CHORUS LINE documentary?
Posted: 4/30/08 at 5:38pmI made my account when one of the only shows I knew was wicked. And I never got angry at your Mario comment. I am angry because even when you didn't know anything about the documentary, you shot down what I posted.

It is currently doing the film festival circuit so keep an eye out in your area. It could be included in other markets, not just the main film festivals.
Expect the DVD release to occur after it goes thru the circuit, so it could be some time. Don't hold your breath as it could be a couple of years.

um, Tribeca FF was three months ago? (Unless- did you mean the upcoming New York FF?)
Hopefully after Toronto there will be a US distribution deal, and we won't be talking about this at Tribeca '09. :)
The complete Toronto schedule goes up **AUGUST 19**, but here's the blurb from the Doc Blog-
Every Little Step James Stern, Adam Del Deo, USA
World Premiere
Every Little Step is a theatrical documentary on the making of Broadway’s greatest hit and current revival of A Chorus Line. The film culls behind-the-scenes footage of the auditions, rehearsals and performances of the 1975 original and the 2006 Broadway revival - revealing how life imitates art as performers from both productions undergo intense experiences similar to the roles in the show itself. Every Little Step, directed by James Stern and Adam Del Deo (…So Goes the Nation, TIFF 2006 and The Year of the Yao, TIFF 2004) spotlights the similarities and the differences between the two shows separated by a generation, the enduring popularity of A Chorus Line, and the creative minds behind one of the longest running musicals in Broadway history.
(edit because July 29 is not August 19 :))

"ok, I cannot wait for this!!! But question... what theater's would show this?"
One or two in New York, one or two in LA, maybe one in Chicago and one in San Francisco. The mainstream audience really isn't interested in a documentary on a 30 year-old musical.
