I just saw the tour in Philly a few weeks ago, as well as the Broadway production many years ago. The only main difference is that the tour is quite downscaled. As for the stage being smaller, there is no "elevator system" and pride rock and the elephant graveyard is on a track from backstage instead of underneath. Costumes/props/setting is all the same with minor changes. Still the same show, loved every minute of it. Very enjoyable.

When I saw the show in Philly in December Venny was also on for Richie and not to be rude or anything thought he was absolutely horrible [singing and acting - not just because he wasn't black]and im sorry but a white guy with a spray-tan will not cut for black. They also cut all mentions of him supposed to be black.

I saw the show and waited....and waited.. and was told they went out "the other way" and then started walking away then I saw Patti walk right by me and hunted her and mandy down for a picture and an autograph. Beware if you go on a two show day beware of the mood from LuPone but Mandy was nice as can be.

The whole cast came out?? When? Where did they go?! haha A girl was on her phone video taping the whole show about two rows in front of me and she got up until Without You and house management came and told her off....then the ushers started swarming in so distracting then the pictures started which no one got caught ....>!

I went on Friday night....crazy audience [loads of late comers ] but It was an amazing night. Toby Blackwell was on as a SWING for Mr. Jefferson...interesting but okay. The cast was utterly amazing, and the whole performance was great.
