I love "Come So Far"! Can't get it out of my head. It's too good to just be an over the end titles song.
"I've lost everything! Luis, Marty, my baby with Chris, Chris himself, James. All I ever wanted was love." --Sheridan Crane "Passions"
-------
"Housework is like bad sex. Every time I do it, I swear I'll never do it again til the next time company comes."--"Lulu"
from "Can't Stop The Music"
-----
"When the right doors didn't open for him, he went through the wrong ones" - "Sweet Bird of Youth"
------------
---------
"Passions" is uncancelled! See NBC.com for more info.

Ladies Choice and You Can't Stop the Beat. I didn't get the joke/twist/whatever in The New Girl In Town until the second viewing, which makes me feel quite stupid...

Run And Tell That
Elijah Kelley is phenomenal! And Taylor Parks has a fantastic voice. Reminds me of a young Michael Jackson.

OK, silly question:
The beginning of "New Girl in Town" mentions a moving van, signifying the arrival of (duh) a new girl in town. The end of the song mentions a moving van again, and "Look out! Look out! Look out!" (does that remind anyone else of Little Shop, by the way?), ending with "She WAS the new girl in town."
Are we to assume that the new girl got hit by the moving van? Or did another new girl arrive in town, displacing the other one?

I assume she was hit by the moving van.
I'm obsessed with Ladies' Choice right now.

Ladie's Choice is incredibly fun.

I'm loving most of the CD, but have a problem with a couple of the robot voices. And by that, I mean Brittany Snow and Amanda Bynes with their rather large amount of digital vocal tweaking/smoothing...
Not horrible, but kind of a distraction for me... Sounds almost Cher/Believe at times.

I didn't notice that so much with Amanda and Brittany, but definitely picked up on it a couple of times with Zac (although Marc S. insists there was no digital 'adjusting' done).

I love them all but if I had to pick it would be Good Morning Baltimore. I just love the intro to it.

NO digital adjusting done? Hmmm.... Maybe not for Zac. Listen to Bynes on "...my ivory tower, life was..." TOTALLY dig'ed. She sounds a ton better on YCSTB though.
(And she's never as bad as Rosario Dawson at times on the Rent soundtrack though. "So let's find a BA-uh-UH-ur...")
Still, the overall Hairspray package is fantastic, with the mix of pro singers and "actors who sometimes sing." Was very impressed with the movie and soundtrack.

PS- Nothing compares to Madonna on the Evita soundtrack. Though I still love it AND her, she's been processed through more filters than Lucy in Mame.

I find it most noticable during Zac's solo in "Without Love," particularly these lines:
"Life is rock-n-ROLL without a drummer" and
"Tracy, I'll be yours forever cuz I never wanna BE"
Some weird warbly effects going on there that suggest digital manipulation....but if Marc says it ain't so, I'll buy it.
