Posted: 10/22/06 at 10:35amRumors are that the Producers will close once Young Frankenstein is ready for Broadway, so that it will have the St. James.

Believe it is too soon for Grease to be revived. Please revive shows never revived before or not in last 30/40 years
If you must revive it, have Nathan Lane & Kathleen Turner do it.I would pay to see these 2 in it

Posted: 10/22/06 at 12:39pmDrowsy better not close for The Wiz.
#8re: What theatre would the grease revival fit in?
Posted: 10/22/06 at 12:58pmWhether it's too soon or not, they're doing it. And I don't see Drowsy closing soon enough for The Wiz to come it...it's doing VERY well now.

"Where would the little mermaid fit?'
If Les Miz doesn't plunge into eternity, the Broadhurst could fit it nicely. So could the Richard Rodgers.
#11re: What theatre would the grease revival fit in?
Posted: 10/22/06 at 7:18pmthat is exactily what i thought. but doesn't the broadhurst only seat in the early 1,00s

Posted: 10/22/06 at 7:21pmi could see Grease in the Marquis personally. and while we hate shows closing, it's all part of business and we know it happens. lord knows any one of those could go into the Brooks Atkinson soon.

My guess: Expect Disney to close TARZAN at a loss and put MERMAID into the Rodgers (a fine venue for it, IMHO).
I also wouldn't put money on the WIZ coming in.
#14re: What theatre would the grease revival fit in?
Posted: 10/22/06 at 7:23pmMermaid should be in the Palace. I think Legally Blonde is a doomed in there, it's a mistake. Grease would be good in that Tarzan theatre.
#15re: What theatre would the grease revival fit in?
Posted: 10/22/06 at 7:25pmI am guessing High Fidelity will bomb and Grease will grab the Imperial...

Posted: 10/22/06 at 7:26pmdidn't Grease JUST have a revival, like, 10 seconds ago?

yeah, sadly, i think the Palace is too big for LEGALLY BLONDE
but maybe MERMAID for the Palace, and GREASE in either the Imperial or the Broadhurst (if LES MIS is still a limited engagement)
or GREASE might be good for the Richard Rodgers

i never thought of the idea of them closing Tarzan but it might be smart for them to put Mermaid there...
i do think Legally Blonde will last 6 months though. from what i heard, it sounds a lot better from what i SAW of High Fidelity

Posted: 10/22/06 at 7:51pmThe Imperial is promised next fall to BILLY ELLIOT unless I am wrong...IF High Fidelity is successfull enough it will have to move theatres.

Posted: 10/22/06 at 7:53pmTarzan has been plagued with backstage congestion and problems...I doubt that Disney would ever use a small venue like the Richard Rodgersw ever again for a new show.

Posted: 10/22/06 at 7:54pmYep, the Imperial has Billy Eliot, no matter what. They also have a show planned for the interum for when HF closes....it's a British import, but I forget the title.
