At which time should I arrive to the box office lines for LOVEMUSIK tomorrow morning and THE COLOR PURPLE Tuesday morning for rush tickets?
Tomorrow morning I want the LOVEMUSIK matinee. I'm worried because I am scheduled to arrive at JFK at 7:37am and won't be in Manhattan until 9am, yes? (AirTran to Jamaica then subway to 42nd & Bway)
Thanks!
PS: I will have one piece of luggage with me. Does the theatre have a coat check where they can hold my luggage? WHAT TO DO?! OY.
My friend and I got to the Biltmore around 11 today (box office opens at noon) and were the first people in line.

Someone on another board who got Color Purple rush tickets last Friday got in line at 7:45 a.m. People had started lining up at 6:30 a.m. It might be less busy on Tuesdays, though.

I don't know if it varies by theater, but I think they might let you bring one piece of luggage with you. My bf and I saw Beauty and the Beast and he had a duffel bag and a backpack, and they let him into the theater with that stuff, but they checked it first. If it is a really big piece of luggage that is impossible to fit, check with someone at the box office and they might be able to direct you to someone.
Are the LoveMusik tickets for a night show sold when the BO opens?
I think every theatre has a coatcheck, and I've never had a problem with luggage. In fact, when you walk in carrying it, the ushers all immediately let you know where the coatcheck is and direct you there. I had to bring quite a bit of luggage with me to A Chorus Line a few weeks ago (apparently Penn Station doesn't let you check bags without a ticket anymore? Since when did they require that?). Some random audience member b*tched at me for bringing it to the theatre on the way in. For god's sake, it's not like I was going to put it in her seat. But the theatre staff are always completely accomidating.
I was just wondering where the LoveMusik rush seats are located. Thanks.
The Biltmore rush policy is "whatever is left over."
So, you could be anywhere.
I brought my luggage to the Edison Hotel and they held them for me for $1 each and I got claim tickets. Perfect.
For LoveMusik, they gave me second row balcony.
I attended the matinee yesterday and received second row balcony as well. I arrived at the theatre at around 10:30.
Or if you're close to the Marriott, they've checked my baggage for free before. That may have changed as it was a year ago, but that's another option. The old "I just checked out and my flight's not til later" ruse. :)
Hotels don't check baggage for free, you're supposed to tip the bellhop.

Duh. I tip. But I meant there wasn't a per piece charge PRE-tip like some places have.
Don't know what it's like now that the (mixed) reviews have come in, but I did LOVEMUSIK rush a few days before opening night on a Saturday matinee-- got there at 10:15 (box office opened at 10) and was told I was the first person to do rush that day.
I have a question about LOVEMUSIK rush. (I did search and this hadn't been asked.)
On the Talkin Broadway Rush/SRO list, for LOVEMUSIK it says:
"Must show ID and verify current enrollment in diploma/degree program."
Is this really the case? Has anyone really had to verify enrollment? That seems a bit much but I don't want to wait only to find out I can't get them after all.

At LoveMusik rush my id was scrutinized more closely than anywhere else I'd been. There's no real way to verify from my id itself whether it's current/valid or not. However, they did take the id without requiring anything additional, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
I rushed on Tuesday, and arrived at 11:45. Was the first one there. The second person came around 11:50. My seat was second row of mezzanine, right side.
Thanks! Good to know. My ID doesn't have a year on it so it should work. I'm hoping to rush tomorrow as I want to catch the show before the nominations come out.
Hmmm. Maybe I'd better find the "temorary" ID they gave us at Pace to use until the "One Card" came in. The guy at SA didn't want to take that at first until I showed him where it said "Official University ID" real small in the top. He assumed it was a credit card with a picture on it.
I thought this thread was titled "We should revive Lovemusik and Color Purple"
I was scared.

Would I be able to rush both Journey's End and LoveMusik on a sunday? Which one should I go to first, and when do the box offices open?

From what I can find the box office at the Biltmore opens at 10am on Sundays and the box office at the Belasco opens at noon. Yes? Awesome, I should be able to rush them both then. :)
Ugh, nevermind, LoveMusik's sunday night showings aren't happening anymore.

I got to the Biltmore on Wednesday at 9:55 to rush LoveMusik (box office opened at 10) and there was no one else there.
The Tony nominations may affect that for a couple of weeks though.
Any update on Color Purple rush recently?
yeah... any update?
