What to see?- Page 3

Just came back after 2 weeks - saw everything, and I can say w/o a doubt - see DOUBT. Best show, bar none - flawless cast, fascinating script - a great evening of theater.

My next choices would be Altar Boyz which does what it does perfectly, and Fiddler if it's still playing (Harvey is unique, loving, wonderful - and the production is gorgeous. I've done it a million times from H.S. to CLO, but this performance moved me as if I'd never seen it before. In spite of Nancy Opel who as perfect as she was in Urinetown is that uncomfortable as Yente).

Then Piazza - gorgeous theater, glorious leads.

DRS and Spamalot - overrated. Lots of fun bits, but the sum of the parts is greater than the whole.

Spelling Bee - okay, I guess. I would have rather seen it as an improv in MA.

All Shook Up was a surprisingly fun bargain matinee. It does what little it sets out to do really well.

Pillowman is quite the experience. Grueling - but some great perfs by all.

Virginia Woolf may be closed by then - but if you're in the mood to see a contemporary classic in really good hands, this and Glengarry Glen Ross are mucho satisfying.

Wow, what a great couple of weeks you had, MissMommy!!


I recommend Sweet Charity, Swifty...good show, great actress, and a fantastic ensemble! Christina owns the stage, and music for this show is top notch. You can't beat a Cy Coleman score, IMO.

It's energetic, and, to steal a description from another poster, "bubbly". Go if you are looking for a fun evening...

YAY! DRS - You'll have a BLAST, it's just so much fun. Not even in an overproduced kind of way like SPAMALOT...when is it again youre going?
