When is Marissa Winokur leaving?

I heard a long time ago, around winter I believe, that she would be leaving in July or August. I think August seeing as how she would have been doing Hairspray for an entire year. But who knows, with her Tony award now, she may stay on. However, I do remember hearing something about her being in talks with one of the major networks about her own television show. Personally, I'd rather see her stay with the Broadway production. Also...I think if she would be leaving in the near future it would have been officially announced ages ago. She is leaving in August. Yes, she is under a one year contract and one year would be the show's anniversary, August 15, but that date falls on a Friday. If she does leave the week of the one year anniversary, her final perfromance would be Sunday, August 17.

I got tickets for the 15th. All they had available was rear Mezzanine Row R Center. Are those really that bad?

My wife & I may celebrate our 5 th anniversary by seeing "Hairspray" over the labor day weekend. Getting good tickets at the box office is an exercise in futility. We may get house seats as our friend (Franz) has a friend in the show. He has a minor role, I believe (ha ha). His name is Dick Latessa . Saw Mr Latessa In Will Rogers & Philomon (Off Broadway) among others

I was only kidding about Latessa's role.

Not sure if Harvey will be in it than but we shall see. I guess there is life after "Legs Diamond" after all

The theatre is so small that you can see good from almost anywhere. I sat in the last row and still had a good view.

A friend asked her at the stage door the other night and she said "mid-August but I'll probably be back"

Yes, she is supposed to return to the show for a stint next summer.

I hope she's gonna be there the 15th. I mean, it is the one year anniversary of the show. So, if her contract is for a year, she should be there. I can't wait!! By the way, I picked up Hairspray: The Roots today, and the book is really amazing!

Theoreticaly, if her contract is up the week of the one year anniversary and she leaves that week, her last day will be sunday the 17th.
