When you say Vegas

Your saying " Love "Your saying Diamond Rings and all those things that little girls dream of. This show has got it all. You talk about a show that gives you its moneys worth. Go see it and "Dont chintz out" by a good seat and treat yourself to one of the Best Broadway shows that has come around in years. I think it walks away with some Tonys (like in Danza)

Show sucks, unfortunately. Will be closing within 2-3 months.

That is only your opinion. Not everyone else's. I loved the show and think it will stay open, but your opinion could also be right.

When you say Vegas

The fact that the show has been on seat-filling services almost daily is quite telling.

No It was the boneheaded decision to have a 2 month preview period during the holidays when it was not needed after Papermill

So, if it opened sooner, it would be selling out the house now? Why? The reviews have been out now, so they are getting all the data they need about advance sales. Plus, if it is a hidden gem on Broadway, and reviews are good, shouldn't the locals be swooping in and enjoying a nice $80 seat before all the B&T swarm the theater soon?

"Your review here was not to comprehensive."

THIS from the man whose comprehensive reviews are always for shows where the critical consensus is negative and his summary is ALWAYS: "It wasn't that bad. The critics had it in for it."

Period.

Stevie3--you say what you think and say what you feel-- it is wonderful you are so passionate about this show.
I enjoy whatever you contribute.

I love this show. I hope that it finds its audience.
It's old fashioned, tuneful, and funny.
Best musical I've seen in a long time.

When you say Vegas

Hey sweetie, thanks for the vote of confidence. I just call it the way i see it. Most of the people on this board really look for the fly in the soup. I am happy for the tremendous effort these Honeymooners put into this show. They really deserve all those positive reviews.I have seen many a show on the great white way and alot of performers really go all out, but there was just something i saw with Vegas that makes me extremely happy for the cast. I have seen it four times allready and still cant stop singing the songs. Do you feel the same way too? I think it will eventually find its audience, wanna know why? Right now people are just ok about the show, but when it starts getting recognition and nominations for the Tony Awards you know how people get. They start saying what a wonderful show it was. Basically jumping on the band wagon cause they want to be part of the in thing. You know the certain type of cell phone, hamburger joints, the right colored sneaker, etc etc etc..I amglad you enjoyed the show. You rock my friend

On the Town isn't selling out the house either, and they are still open. I think Honeymoon in Vegas will pick up once the Tony Award nominations come out and stay open for a good amount of time and become a hit, unlike On the Town which isn't going to get much attention from the Tony's, and give notice shortly after.

They just have to, you know, stay open long enough for the nominations to be announced.
A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

When you say Vegas

yeah and they both still will be open by the time the tony nominations come out. Even if they aren't making money, the tony award nominations will determine a lot.

A big brassy old fashioned musical that should be eaten up by locals & tourists alike

The score shows how versatile & talented a composer Brown is.

You deserve it sweets. So glad you appreciate what the essence of what a real broadway show should be. Most people want it to be a reality show or a soap opera. We need more people like us to keep Broadway Broadway. Ps. How do we get rid of all the people who wanna eat candy when the show is going on? Any ideas. I have a few but i know they will never work. I need a womans perspective

When you say Vegas...I say FUN

I had more fun watching Honeymoon in Vegas then Side Show or On The Town even though I enjoyed both as well. Vegas is tons of fun with a score that is a tuneful delight. I hope the positive reviews help to build and find an audience for this show as it should have a run.
It will probably be acknowledged for best musical, best actor-Rob McClure, featured actress-Nancy Opel, best score and orchestrations.

I happen to think On The Town will win Best Revival - it will take the other 3 a miracle to even come close the magic happening at the Lyric.

I honestly want each of the 6 principals and Jackie nominated, but that's obviously not going to happen. If any are nominated, I think it will be Tony Yazbeck Best Actor, Alysha Umphress for Best Actress, and Jackie Hoffman for Featured Actress. But everyone's doing such great work, I don't think the committee will be able to pick only a few.

As for Honeymoon, it's the best new musical this season so far. It will be a great force when nominations are announced. As for Best Musical win, I wouldn't hold my breath unless Fun Home is a complete disaster in the round.

Sideshow may give OTT a run for its money.

With all due respect to Side Show, I thought the actors are what made that production so fantastic. I wasn't a fan of the revisions - the sung through style was much better for the show. I loved the cast and the costumes, but I didn't think the show (especially when comparisons were unavoidable) was better than the original production.

This is a slightly random question, but does anyone have an estimate of the running costs for Honeymoon in Vegas? I would imagine that they are higher than OTT, but I'm not positive. With the underwhelming ticket sales for the show, how much money is it making?

Sally Durant Plummer- Alysha Umphress is Featured, not Leading.

When you say Vegas...I say FUN

As I said in the other thread on this show (not sure why there needed to be a new one) before you responded so crudely, the show is pretty racist. Both myself and my companion (both POC) were offended by the stereotypes, by "Frikki Frikki" and by the lazy comedy of it all.

I've heard they'll close at the end of February. Anyone else hear the same?

Doubt it will make it to the Tonys. This week is not helping.

A shame as the show is fun but this is the state of Broadway these days.
