Which production you wanna see Randy Harrison in?

Thanks to someone who knows Harrison for defending him. I feel better (not that that matters). Since I don't get into NYC but once a year, I visit regional theatre often. I am also glad to see the generalization about regionals debunked as well.

Boy, all this self-righteous hyperventilating over someone so...not worth it.

A regional theatre like the Berkshires doesn't ever take into account the benefit of an actor's high profile resume? Nope, don't buy it.

Borstalboy, you don't stop do you? You say this conversation is not even worth it, but yet you tag on the line "A regional theatre like the Berkshires doesn't ever take into account the benefit of an actor's high profile resume? Nope, don't buy it."

Think what you want Borstalboy, but that is not our aim. Do we see a benefit for casting Randy? Yes, but it is such a small tiny fraction of our audience that it is ridiculous to say we cast him to boost ticket sales. Most of our audience are retirees that spend the summer in the Berkshires and probably have never seen an episode of Queer as Folk. That is not the reason why we cast him. He doesn't get paid any more than any of the other actors and he doesn't get a higher billing than any of the other actors, so why would he come to BTF if it was just about his name? It's not the name dude, it's because we have a good relationship with each other. He does great work, so we bring him back.

But I don't expect you to buy into this with your stubborn opinion of regional theatres. I just wish you had a little more respect for regional theatres, instead of writing us off as money grabbers. I mean, for crying out loud, we are not-for-profit 501(c)3... we are use to being in the red.

Well, thank God that's settled!

So! Back to the original topic: What productions or would you like to see Randy Harrison play in?

Anyone? Anyone?
