"I think Company will probably end up at the Eugene O'Neil."

I feel like the O'Neil is way too big. It's deceiving, the mezz actually goes up pretty high.

P.S. To get back to the original question of the thread about the Palace, let's not forget the Pirate Queen is on it's way soon, and that is promised to be a fairly large production. That might end up at the Palace.

I've also heard Pajama Game mentioned...but the palace may be big even for that. I like the idea of Les Miz going in there.

Right. It was just brought up, though it won't happen, that Les Miz would work much better in the Palace than the Broadhurst. It would have the big theatre, and the Palace would have a popular tenant that people would want to sit in the balcony for.

re: Which shows are fighting for the Palace?

This is a little off the thread topic, but since you guys seem to know a lot about all the Broadway houses.....

I was watching "So You Think You Can Dance" last night, and noticed that the NYC auditions were held at the Hilton. I know Hot Feet is there now, but what show was there before it? I guess I'm just trying to figure out if the TV show filmed while a show was going on at the theater, or if it was empty at the time.

Thanks, and sorry for the minor threadjack!

Since it was snowing at the signs outside were gone, I'm assuming that was filmed this past Winter, between shows -- just after Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which had closed on New Years' Eve 2005/6. Load-out was completed sometime in the weeks following.

Ah, that's where Chitty was. Thanks emcee!

I felt kind of dumb being able to recognize the exterior wall, but once they showed the stage door and the lobby, it was more recognizable. It's such a beautiful theatre.

THE PIRATE QUEEN goes into the Paris Hilton.
It is already being designed supposedly for there.

Is the ink dried on the contract between Mackintosh and the Shubert Organization to have Les Miz in the Broadhurst? Had the Palace been a Shubert house, I'm sure the switch would have been easy...

"THE PIRATE QUEEN goes into the Paris Hilton. "

I wonder if she'll take phone calls in the middle of it all.

How can Pirate Queen be going into the Hilton? Hot Feet is still there in an open-ended run. I know it won't stay open much longer, but I thought you couldn't declare a theatre that still had an open-ended run in it. Like, what if by some miracle Hot Feet grabbed some famous dancer that pulled in sales for the next 3 years? (Won't happen, but for arguments sake.)
