I know what you mean!! The first time I saw A Chorus Line (about 7 years ago, on tour) I told my friend, "Oh my God, that 70's, 'Theme from Shaft' guitar is too funny! It's got that "wahka-wahka" quality. It really sets the score in that particular time.
BTW, for you other "Rich Man's Frug" fans: The recently re-released OBC recording (with Gwen Verdon) has an "extended" version of the song.
