I'm a newcomer to the New York theater scene, and I'm sure others are more knowledgeable and discerning. But I really enjoyed all three Encores productions this year, and I'm in awe of the hard work and talent up on that stage. My personal favorite, maybe surprisingly, was Superman. I know it's supposed to be the lightest in terms of content—enjoyable fluff, maybe. But I loved the score, and I think the show received a wonderful Encores production in terms of staging, performances, and choreography. Do you have a favorite of the three? Also, Cotton Club Parade was a "special" production, and I loved that one too!

I only saw SUPERMAN...so it would really be unfair of me to pick it against FIORELLO! and ON YOUR TOES.
But I will say that SUPERMAN was very entertaining and well done and I've heard very positive feedback about FIORELLO! and ON YOUR TOES.
Definitely Superman - it was easily the best cast production of the season, and the Eddie Sauter orchestrations were thrilling and let the orchestra really show off.
There was no contest: it was Superman by a mile. One of the best Encores presentations I've ever seen (of about 20).
I agree that the best was also Superman, but I enjoyed them all!
Superman was easily my LEAST favorite. I found it very sloppy. Fiorello was definitely my favorite this season (though I thought all 3 paled in comparison to last year's Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and the previous year's Where's Charley? and Bells Are Ringing.
I absolutely love Encores! And I've been lucky enough to see every production over the past six years. Superman was easily my favorite this year. Last season was pretty spectacular.
Have the selections for next year been confirmed? The rumors I've heard have been Irma La Douce, Little Me and The Most Happy Fella.
I also only saw Superman but I loved it!
Whizzer, I really hope they're doing Most Happy Fella! Love to see Very Warm for May too.
