It's good I did not buy tickets way in advance. Whoa ! They are not selling, huh?!
Cheaper than TDF. So if this goes to Bostix - would it be half price- $14.00 ??

The U.S. National Tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Jim Steinman's musical, Whistle Down The Wind, directed by Bill Kenwright, has announced its final stops. After concluding its current run at Boston's Wang Center on February 3, the show will play Philadelphia's Merriam Theatre, February 5-10, and the Chrysler Hall in Norfolk, Virginia, February 12-17.
SO IT WILL ONLY PLAY in Boston, Phildelphia & Norfolk(VA)

I too was planning to see this in a week in Philly, but it's not selling (only the $40/$25 3rd Balcony seats) so I was hoping for a discount. Along wiht this, as well as extremely mixed reviews I will not be seeing it anymore..unless theres $28 instead of $75!
And yeah, it really must not be selling if it's that cheap! And for the record, it isn't in Philly either and it's in a small theatre!
but why $28.00 for Orchestra seat and for 1 week... I wonder if they will break even in Boston.

I actually heard it did really well in Detriot. And it probably did in Houston for the premiere, and I can't imagine it's running costs being too high, so maybe it's really close to breaking even or maybe Boston's going to close the tour and they want to fill the seats .. ?
I guess so. I dont mind getting a free ticket. I might ask my friend who works for bostix if he can score me some. I was playing the London Soundtrack to Chris ( my hubby) and he told me..what the hell is that ?!
I guess... I got the picture... If I will see this.. I am going solo.

The Tour isn't working I read so if you want to see it now is the time. We heard we aren't getting it after all in SF because they are stopping the Tour. Very bad news because many here were looking forward to it. Well give us a review if you go Jay.
I wonder if they would continue to Philly & VA after Boston?

It's just not a good show. It's actually quite bad. The music is great, for the most part, and some of the people including Eric Kunze are great. Other than that....there's nothing there. I would not be surprised if the tour closed out of town, and I am sure it will never make it to Broadway.

I did not really like the music after listening 4-5 times. How about the book?
Speaking of Eric Kunze. He was Chris in Miss Saigon in 1994 when I saw it with my "Chris" (my 2nd time) I stumbled to my old old 1994 Miss Saigon Playbill with Rona Figueroa as Kim.
I must agree with you on that. It may not even make it here in Boston. they are selling tickets for $25.00- $28.00 -top price for Orchestra. Even regional theaters charge $40.00 (cheapest)
The $25.00- $28.00 is unheard of specially at Wang Center. they MUST really be desperate to sell those tickets..

My parents just bought tickets for the VA show. I'll have to ask how much they paid.

Clueless much?
This production was NEVER planned to go to Broadway, so this closing out-of-town doesn't apply -- its a tour and it IS out-of-town. Its closing would be just another closing.
I'm going to see this when it comes to Dallas. I have season tickets and this show is included in the package. And we definitely paid around $60 to see this so that's kind of disappointing if they are selling for so cheap elsewhere. We shall see if they lower the tickets in Dallas. I'm really curious about this show even though everybody on here thinks it's not very good.

NY Broadway 2 the show isn't going to make it to Dallas. The tour is ending after its run in Norfolk.
mll 85 where did you hear that from? I'm just curious because I went to the website and they have all these other cities and dates they are playing after Norfolk and I haven't been sent anything about the show being cancelled yet.

Word on the street is that it's closing in Philly.
Well that's not cool if it's closing early. That's really weird too because they just brought on Whitney Brashor to the cast to replace Andrea Ross so that would mean she would only be doing the role for about 3 weeks. Kind of strange.

It was being discussed in a thread on the San Francisco message board. But the cast apparently recieved notice that they were ending the tour a few days ago, it just hasn't been officially announced yet.
Well thanks for the heads up. I actually wanted to see this show even if it wasn't very good. Oh well I guess I will just look forward to other things to see.

It closes February 17th.
Well..I guess.... I should probably see it in Boston...so that's the reason why its soo cheap $28.00 for ORCHESTRA seats...
at least...folks in Philly & VA have a chance to see it..if its "rumored" to CLOSE on 2/17.

BrodyFosse123, clueless much yourself? Yes, it was planned for Broadway..if the tour went well. In the future, get your facts straight before you become nasty....
Going to Broadway....
Yes, sadly the cast has been told they are closing.
And jaystarr, Eric was great in Saigon!
In my opinion, the music is the best thing about the show....so if you don't like that I don't think there is much for you there. The book is bad...weird characters, situations...no flow. But, I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to see it so cheaply. At least you can say you saw it and, who knows, you may like it! A lot of people do.

While the director did in fact make an off-hand comment about the production being good enough for Broadway, the tour was never actually scheduled to eventually end on Broadway, and nowhere in the article does it mention that it had Broadway plans. There is a reference to the ORIGINAL production being Broadway-bound but flopping out of town. Learn how to read before posting affirmations of false statements.
