Love has nothing to do with it, it's simply what a good wife should do.
I called Vishnu last night and got the answering machine, it sounded just like the one in RENT - "SPEAK!"

This could be the most preposterous threadjack EVER.
I am fond of wives that eat the children and the regurgitate them. As I have done.
But, I mean, I suppose I probably shouldn't ask but, Do you think your wife would like, go on "FEAR FACTOR" for you and eat things like, well, reindeer nuggets and drink 100 year old nog too? She must be a GOOD wife then!!
i forgot about Jennifer Hope Wills and Greg Edelman from "Wonderful Town"....you don't need to originate a role to be a "god" i am just saying who is a god to me. Brooke is a goddess to me. The way she acted in Wonderful Town was just amazing...no wonder why she got raves from every newspaper and increased the ticket sales. Anyhow...i am tired of sticking up for her.
Any wife that sips nog near me, must be sipping nog that is 1000 years of age or older.
I have chunks of GODs like Ares in my stool.
Oh my, now we are back talkin' shi - nevermind.
Doesn't everyone know that Oprah is god!!

no randy, i think you mean Uma.
Well maybe they both fight for the right.
Thespis. Greek Ghost of the Theatre.
And I think Anthony Rapp, Bernadette Peters, Julie Andrews, Liza Minelli, Michael Crawford, and Michael Ball get that honor too.
Maybe Adam Pascal...give him a few more years...
Rosie O'Donnell? Brooke Shields? VANESSA WILLIAMS????? Gods (or goddesses) of the theater????? Wow.
Oh--my picks: Chita Rivera, Bernadette Peters, Carol Channing, Harvey Fierstein, and when she was still alive, Gwen Virdon.
If we're only counting performers:
Gwen Verdon
Chita Rivera
Bernadette Peters
Carol Channing
Elaine Stritch
Jerry Orbach
Ethel Merman
Mandy Patinkin
Harvey Fierstein
Julie Andrews
Liza Minelli
Ben Vereen
Nathan Lane
Demi-Gods:
Marlon Brando
Barbara Streisand
Audra McDonald
Pagan Gods
ALW
Wildhorn
Ben Vereen
Colm Wilkinson
Anthony Rapp
Raul Esparza
No, incendiary, Adam just thinks he's God.
I kid, I kid.
Brooke Sheilds and Rosie O'Donnell are NOT broadway gods. I repeat BROOKE SHEILDS and ROSIE O'DONNELL ARE NOT BROADWAY GODS. Reality check my friend...
Someofallthings really had it down so I'd have to agree except that:
Marlon Brando
Barbara Streisand
Audra McDonald
- I'd count those as gods too...not just demi's!!
Gwen Verdon
Chita Rivera
Bernadette Peters
Carol Channing
Elaine Stritch
Jerry Orbach
Ethel Merman
Mandy Patinkin
Harvey Fierstein
Julie Andrews
Liza Minnelli
Ben Vereen
Nathan Lane
Patti LuPone
I'd also add as Demi- Gods:
Donna Murphy
LaChanze
Rachel York
Victoria Clark (maybe)
Marin Mazzie

What about Joel Grey?!?
Think Cabaret people!
and my personal pick of
Hugh Jackman...he's definitely a God-in-training...
-Feste from "Twelfth Night"
Minnelli has two N's, people - always has. I wouldn't misspell the name of a god. Bad things happen when you piss them off.
Wow, how could I forget Mr.Grey? Gotta love the MC of the MC's, I think his MC is the Ethel Merman' Mamma Rose of male actors.
Thanks for the reminder.
I guess it depends just how far back you want to go. Here is my grab bag of names that you could call Broadway 'God's". These are all musical stars...

Martin
Channing
Astaire (both)
Preston
Mostel

Those are a few of my "God's" that immediately spring to mind. I'm bound to think of a few more.
