Personally, I hope they cast David Bedella. He was the original Warm Up Man/Satan and won the Olivier award for it.

David Bedella is, I think, busy doing other stuff in London, where he lives. Of course he would be the ideal choice though.

I'm assuming von Essen is playing Jesus? Balgord is probably Jerry conscience (forget the character's name). Can anyone confirm?

Lemme explain. Jerry's Inner Valkyrie is, in her first scene, played by the woman who plays Andrea. Then later on, in her next two appearances, she's played by the woman who plays Zandra and Irene.

Emily is vocally perfect for Shawntel but unfortunately in the lyrics she's called "Fat bitch!"

Skinner is definitely playing Shawntel/Eve.

I would actually think Max von Essen would be better suited for Tremont/Angel Gabriel than Montel/Jesus (he did play Mary Sunshine in CHICAGO.)

Not too sure about Balgord, but my guess would be that she is going to be Zandra/Irene/Mary.

Skinner is not playing Shawntel. They have not found one yet. They have auditions posted for the role of Shawntel/Eve on December 14. Skinner doesn't have the vocal chops for the role.

touchmeinthemorning, I can assure you with 100% certainty that Skinner is playing Shawntel (this comes directly from first hand information.)

Due to her spotty track record, I wouldn't be surprised if they cast a cover for her just in case (especially because of the demands of the role, even if it is only for two performances.)

I am rather surprised to hear you say that she doesn't have the vocal chops for the role. I find "I Just Want To Dance" to fit perfectly within her range.

She's playing Andrea. God, now I really wanna see this. I love it when Andrea sings, "Stop this f ucking s hit!" And Emily would knock the audience on their asses with that line.

And Laura Shoop as Baby Jane. Her "This is My Jerry Springer Moment"...ugh. She has the voice of an angel. I would melt if I heard her sing it.

Mattbrain, to make a long story short... there were some behind the scenes conflicts. Originally, she was going to play Shawntel.

What an extremely talented ensemble they have lined up!

This is sure to be one heck of an event.

I wonder why they just dont fly over Alison Jiear. She's the one who made "I Just Wanna Dance" famous.

Also the guy who played Satan, and won an Oliver Award...I'm sure they'd like a recording to be released of their performances.
