It (obviously) holds a special place in my heart.
My first B'way show! It introduced me to the world of Broadway, and to Sutton. (I can't believe I made it into adulthood before ever going to NYC...I missed out on some great years)

Be my guest, darlin'! :)
Is Velveeta actual cheese or "PROCESSED CHEESE FOOD"?
Because Millie is the latter.

>>>Not I. I found it rather dreadful and as I've said in other threads, it couldn't hold a candle to the film. "Tap-tap, Tap-tap, Tap-tap, Tapioca everybody freeze!" Raaaaaaaahhhhhhhhzzzzzzzzzzberries!!!
The film was OK, fun to watch but campy at the end. Julie Andrews made that movie, IMO. I prefer her Millie to the one in the show. Sutton Foster must have acted her little toes off to make the character that memorable. Because I saw Darcie Roberts in the part, and while she was good, she didn't make me go "WOW!" like I did with Julie Andrews.

I found Darcie to be an exact replica of Sutton.
I liked the film because it played up the camp of it all which I found to be lacking in the stage production. I also thought that the transformation of Muzzie from screen to stage was horrid! Talk about killing a great role!

Millie was a bad show but there were some good parts. I enjoyed it the 2 times I've seen it.
I recently saw the movie for the first time, and I think the show was much better.
#39re: Who else misses Millie???
Posted: 7/21/05 at 4:57pmThe movie is unwatchable. Sutton really made the show work. Her star turn really made the show enjoyable.

I miss it!
Hell yeh, I miss it!
I loved this show, and Sutton Foster is the greatest performer I have ever seen on stage. The tunes, the choreography and costumes were all great, as well.
BTW There's a non-eq tour coming to the NJ PAC next June.
