I made a donation of $100 to Broadway Cares. I thought it would be nice to send it in honor of two performers I admired and took advantage of the option of sending a personal message to them. I told Andrew Rannells how much I enjoyed his BOM performance, and I told Rory O'Malley I enjoyed his BOM performance and work for his "It Gets Better" Project. The organization sent the customary acknowledgement and thanks. I did not know if the guys I sent it "in honor of" would send a thank you. It did not matter that much, as I know they must be inundated with requests and other promotional obligations. Should I have expected a personal thank you from them? I really did not know.

Never done this before and was just wondering if you guys find that performer's don't send stuff out during BC/EFA fundraising season? I wasn't sure if they would send out signed playbills, etc., since you can buy them after the performances.
Today, I got mail back from Patti LuPone. I sent her my NY Philharmonic Company playbill and asked for a playbill from the Mandy and Patti show. Got both signed and personalized. Took only 4 days.
Thank God for school breaks - I've gone through most (if not all) of the pages of this thread and I think I have a pretty clear idea of how (and who) to send things to. :) I hope to be back soon with news of success!
I have received mail from Mamie Parris and Kendra Kassebaum. Mamie sent a personalized signed head shot of her as Elphaba Act 2 and a sweet letter. Kendra sent back a signed photo of her as Glinda Act 2 not personalized =) I am planning on sending mail to Emily Ferranti. Does anyone know how long she takes to reply?
The other day I got a signed playbill from the principles from Memphis. I'm really happy since Adam Pascal didn't come out the stagedoor when I saw it so at least I have it now.
