Wicked cast before SJB left--and she even signed it "SJB." I have an older cast signed Wicked Playbill from last year, and she had signed her entire name.

I'll always include thanks for a great performance, also recognizing past achievements in TV, stage, movies or cable that the actors have done and best wishes for continued success.
Also, as part of a charitable request for fundraising because I am an officer in my son's high school drama booster club, I solicit some Broadway casts for signed Playbills or promotional swag to include in our silent auctions and raffles. They basically are receptive to the idea because nowadays in CA, most school districts consider Drama to be a "loose end" and some are sadly discontinued along with sports.
The actors and actresses gladly donate, but we add a favorable twist where we include their names (if individuals) or musical/play name in our program and donate to their favorite charity in exchange for their contribution. Everyone benefits from it!
2 Days ago I received 2 signed photos and a nice note from Alexia Kahdime (London's current Elphaba) and a signed photo from Maria Doyle Kennedy (ShowTime's 'The Tudors' TV Drama)
I think it's more meaningful to me personally to get the stuff in person. Which is why I only have one thing! Gypsy Playbill autographed by Patti, Laura, Boyd, Leigh Ann, and Tony. That was so awesome when I got it.
^ This is true. 99% of the autographed things I have have been done in person. However in the case of Laura, she hasn't been doing the stage door thing lately, or wasn't when I saw it (plus there was that freaky nasty downpour that wouldn't quit), so this was the next best thing. Getting the playbill brought back the great memories of seeing the show front row.
The stuff I've gotten from Emily Skinner and Alice Ripley came after personal interaction (and the first note from Emily was a total surprise), so that makes it extra special too.
I've never seen the point in getting stuff from shows and people you've never seen in person. Doesn't make sense to me. I know people will be all "But I live far away and never get to see the shows..." but I guess I just like having the memory of the performance and maybe the interaction afterwards to add to it. Otherwise it seems like it's just a signed pic or playbill with little emotional value. Or maybe I'm just weird in not getting that mindset.

LIVE THAT LESSON!!!!!!
When Geraldine Page was playing in Peter Shaffer's "Separate Tables" I was so impressed with her performance I stayed and had her autograph my Playbill. I told her I was in the Air Force and stationed at Andrews Air Force Base. That Christmas I received a card from her. I was shocked that she took the time after I left to write down my name and location. A great lady and a brillant actress.
Does Gavin Creel respond usually? And does anyone know where I would be best to reach him? I don't think he's currently at a theatre and I can't find info on when Godspell opens.
Tumadre2 - Godspell will be starting performances at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on September 29th 2008 with Opening Night on October 23rd 2008. The address is as follows;
Ethel Barrymore Theatre 243 West 47th Street New York City NY 10036 USA
Hey everyone. Sorry if this has been posted. I searched and couldn't find anything, but just incase I missed it I apologize.
I was wondering if anyone has written to and got a reply from the 7 leads of Young Frankenstein. Also, what sort of picture do they reply with, a headshot or production photo? And finally, does anyone of them not reply? I would like to know before I waste time and write a letter if I'm not going to hear back from them. All help is appreciated! Thanks Everyone!
lola_actor22 ~ Yes, that's what I did with my Gypsy playbill. I sent it to Laura and she sent it back signed. :) I had never done that before because I will usually stage door, but it was raining insanely that particular day.

lola_actor: here is what you do. Send a self addressed stamped envelope to the theater with you address. Put that envelope in a larger envelope with stamps and mail that to the theaters address which you can get from playbill.com Ask the stage door manager for a signed playbill. Thats it! Hope it helps!
