"And for sase do you usually use 2 or 3 stamps?" 2 or 3 will do, I usually put on 2, but if it's a playbill from a show like LES MISERABLES or sort of SOUTH PACIFIC where you know the playbill is distinctly bigger (because of the cast), I'd put on 3.
"How many stamps would you put on a request going from the states to the West End?" If you're going to fold up your SA(s)E to fit into a business letter envelope (suggested!), then you will need 94c/ postage, and if you're going to send a bigger envelope I think it's $1.20. You can get Airmail 94c/ stamps at your post office! And if you're going to send an envelope for a response that is 6x9 or larger, try to include 2 IRCs that you can get from your post office.
That being said, I've only gotten a response from 2 West End "stars"...Maria Friedman who sent me a "free" programme I believe from her show, and Jill Paice sent me a GWTW programme! I've come up emptyhanded elsewhere.
And Daniel Evans sent me a playbill & answered my questions. For some odd reason, I guess I asked/mentioned about Elaine Paige & Maria Friedman (my favourite other British stars!), and he said he was a fan of both, but moreso Maria...and go figure he'd be doing a concert series with her in London!
Quick question to all, I am new to the boards and this is my first post. I wrote note to my idol, Matthew Morrison about how much I admire his work and will be putting it in the mail this week, along with a SASE, Do you know if Matthew Morrison responds? I wrote him a letter and was really hesistent about asking for anything, but I did in my PS section, I asked if he had anytime that he could send me an autographed headshot or playbill, I understand he's busy and told him not to feel bad if he doesnt have the time to respond
So I have a question. Where do you send the letter to get a cast signed Playbill. I know to the stage door, but who do you address it to? Updated On: 7/12/08 at 07:59 PM
Does anyone know how I can send a letter to/get a signed headshot/playbill from Raul Esparza. It would mean so much to me!
Also, just a question: do you have to send the playbill/headshot to be signed, or if you send the SASE will they provide their own? I've never sent/received anything before, so I'm not sure.
Another question...I live in Canada. So...if somebody could give me instructions on how to do all of this from Canada (international coupons instructions and such) I would really appreciate it!
Mizzie - if you can wait until October, Raúl will be appearing in "Speed-The-Plow" on Broadway and you can send your request directly to the theatre (the name of which hasn't been announced yet). He's always been very good about answering mail that way.
I haven't used International Response coupons in a long time, but as I recall they had to be taken to the post office and exchanged for actual postage/stamps. If that's still the same procedure, that won't work for your purposes. I'd check the Canada Post website and see what advice they have, or just go to your nearest post office and ask the postmaster there.
However, I think the best thing to do would be to put together the package, weigh it, and then go to the USPS website and determine how much postage from New York to wherever you are in Canada is, and see if you can buy US postage stamps in that amount (surely there must be SOME place online where you can do that!). And then enclose those stamps with your SASE and material you want to be signed.
does anyone know how long In The Heighs gets back in a autograph, did anyone write to any one in the cast and got something back. i want to send stuff to sign from In the Hieghts, Grease and legally blonde.how long does it take to get back. or should i write to the stage manger???? that is ezaryer????thank u........
