Hi TJ
IMO, Erin Davie doesn't have the vocal strengh for Glinda.
I would love to see Chita and Gwen do it, if only Gwen were still alive.
Erin Davie does have the vocal strength for Glinda. She'd be great in that role.
(Daddy's Girl and Mother Darling are demanding and her voice has held up quite well.)
Okay, first of all, Glinda isn't Cunegande or Momma Rose or Effie. Second of all, Davie definitely has the upper-range. If you saw GREY GARDENS or have the Broadway recording it is clear during "Mother Darling" that she can definitely sing the high notes. Unlike Gettelfinger, she doesn't use this range more as a character choice to sound more like Little Edie.
While I would prefer for Davie to be part of a show that allowed her to show off more of her acting skills (SOUTH PACIFIC, GUYS & DOLLS, SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, FOLLIES--as Young Sally), I think she'd make a winning Glinda and I'd definitely make the trip to NY to see her if she ever were cast.
Kate Shindle. Elphaba. Enough said.
I like Kate Shindle for Elphie.
I also would like to see Lisa Brescia get it for awhile as her own.
The stories I could tell you guys about B3TA07...
I have the unfortunate pleasure of actually knowing this kid.
Don't let him get to you on the board. It's best to just ignore him. That's what I've learned to do.
Anyways, since no one will say it on the thread, will somebody please PM me and tell me who they have signed/are considering/whatever is happening.
Some of us DO care who is playing the role(s), Ben.

If I Paypal you $5, would you start a thread about him for us? :)

Lizzie, the $5 isn't necessary...
let him piss me off a little more and it will be completely free of charge =)
it's only a matter of time...
Shindle's voice would be shot after a week of playing Elphaba. She's got one hell of a range, but her technique is awful.
while I haven't heard enough of her to know what her techinique is like, I will say that I cringe whenever I hear Shindle hit that note in Legally Blonde (is it the remix?). It's the note in the line, "I do not fight." she's just screaming it.

Well, since Charlotte D'Amboise is staying with A Chorus Line...I'm going to go with Laura Benanti, mainly because I think the drama that would stem from that annoucement on this board would be supremely entertaining. Updated On: 7/5/07 at 11:18 PM
You guys are going to lolz when you find out who's playing Elphaba next. I fell on the floor laughing. She's fairly controversial on these boards...
SHE WANTS US TO GET A LIFE!!1!
HARVEY FIERSTEIN AND MARISSA JARET WINOKUR!
^I was thinking Laura, just because of her place on these boards... I doubt it's her though. She's said many times she doesn't want to replace someone.
Daphne!
"For Glinda, Laura won't be Glinda anytime soon and plus, arn't the producers mad at her?"
Why are producers mad at Laura Bell Bundy?
Because Laura Bland Bundy went to LA without informing the producers when she was Chenoweth's stand-by. Chenoweth was injured, her understudy couldn't go on, and when they called Bundy, she was off in LA. Needless to say, all negotiations for her to replace Chenoweth fell apart.
Benanti's pilot got picked up for midseason so don't expect her to be doing any long runs any time soon, at least till next year if her show doesn't last.
Check your PM's, DRSisLove.
Sorry to be obnoxious, but would someone mind PMing as well? If not, no problem. Life goes on.
edit: Never mind, I found out.

I know that Marc Platt and Stephen Schwartz were at the LA show a week or so ago looking at Emily Rozek...whether or not they are looking st her to replace Hilty in LA or send her to Chicago or Broadway..no one is sure.
