Who's excited for the HAMILTON vinyl??

I have the CD and I have a high resolution digital file from www.hdtracks.com

The high resolution track sounds slightly better than the CD. I would bet that an impeccably mastered vinyl LP edition would sound remarkable...but I've settled for high resolution files. In theory, there's no wear and tear...and every time you play the vinyl version, you degrade the vinyl album to a degree.

Mr. Nowack said: "I pre-ordered on Amazon but it won't even ship until tomorrow. "

My Amazon pre-order shipped on the 14th.

Did you just order it recently? Because I placed my preorder months ago. Maybe that's why?

i ordered beginning of March. It certainly wasn't immediately after they started taking orders so you're probably right.

Who's excited for the HAMILTON vinyl??

The Barnes and Noble I stopped by after work had 2 copies of the Hamilton vinyl box set. The box is nice and hefty, but they want $80 for it - $10 more than Amazon, and no discount sticker although I did get a 15% off coupon in my email a few days ago. But even then that's way too much $$$ for me to spend. I was hoping it would be discounted a little. Maybe I'll ask for it for Christmas.

They had about 10 copies of the Hamiltome that I could see - they must have sold the ones with the bowed pages because none of the copies I saw had that problem. However, all of them had it where the back cover didn't lie flat against the back pages - it tilted up at a slight angle, as if the cover was just a little too small for the bound pages. I'm going to hold out on buying a copy till I can find one with the covers and the pages lie flat against each other.

Wow I didn't know that the CD was packaged in the "old school" double disc container, does that mean it has a hefty booklet?

I picked it up last week. I have not played it because....

I do not own a turntable!

I brought it because as a self proclaimed HAMILTON obsessive my collection would not be complete without it.

My copy arrived today! I haven't played mine either sadly as my turntable is back home.

Disappointed that there are no production photos in the booklet Who's excited for the HAMILTON vinyl?? seems like a missed opportunity.

I do especially appreciate that the download offered is in 320kps(?) as opposed to the 256 offered by most digital download services.

As a Hamilton obsessive I own the Hamiltome so having no production photos in the booklet did not bother me at all, but it would have been nice if they would have included some anyway. I doubt the casual theatergoer is going to go out of their way to purchase this set anyway. This is definitely being purchased by the fans who have seen the show and own other merchandising tie-ins from it that the absence of the photos won't really matter.

Who's excited for the HAMILTON vinyl??

I read on Twitter today, someone mentioning that the female vocals on their vinyl sounded "really distorted", and she was wondering if they were all that way or if she just got a bad pressing. Someone else mentioned that their album sounded faster than their CD did.

I'm currently saving up for the vinyl right now, so I'm curious about this too. Is anyone having problems with the sound etc. on the vinyl? Is it pretty good, or better than the CD? Any problems with distortion, speed, etc.? Belt/gear speed is what determines how fast the platter spins, so I do know that turntable speeds vary a little from unit to unit. I guess I'm more wondering about the other stuff.

I highly doubt there's a problem with the pressing. I think the more likely case is people are using crappy record players...

Inferior pressing isn't out of the question but i'd probably say sh!ity player is more likely.

Has anyone here actually LISTENED to the record?? I won't be able to for another week Who's excited for the HAMILTON vinyl??

I haven't had the chance to sit down and listen, but the packaging is gorgeous.

Enjoy!!

Anthony Ramos's first line in the opening made me gasp with how clear it sounded--my friend said she felt the biggest difference listening to The Room Where It Happens.

Who's excited for the HAMILTON vinyl??

Is there any booklet with photos that comes with the vinyl box set or is it just the 4 records?

Who's excited for the HAMILTON vinyl??

There is a large 12x12 booklet with all the lyrics, but no photos or liner notes.
