Check the first preview thread. They don't know yet, but it will be split 4x each per week.

So is it like four random days or is there a set schedule? I wanna see Sahr whateverthehellhisnameis too. I wouldn't mind seeing both Felas but if I had to choose, it'd be nice to see the original one.

And are the TDF tickets generally in the mezz (even though there has only been one performance)?

They said during previews there is no set schedule. Once the show starts I think there will be schedule.

Since they are splitting the role equally, is there really an original and alternate?

I meant the original "Fela" from the Off-Broadway production; Sahr played the role Off-Broadway, Mambo did not. If I'm not mistaken.

I'm not either to be honest. And to be fair, I'm sure Mambo is great. I've just heard across-the-board raves for Sahr and am really excited to see his performance given the buzz he's garnered already.

There is no announced schedule, intentionally, is my understanding. I've seen both performers, and while Sahr may be slightly better than Mambo, the differences are minimal, both do a great job. I'd be happy seeing either one again.

My experience was that you didn't know until you got into the theatre -- there's an insert in the program advising which one is performing at that performance and both names are listed above the title in the body of the program. Personally, I think this is a deplorable practice. Yes, I know that it's an extremely demanding role and that no one should be expected to play it more than once a day. But, say that you wanted to see both -- you run the risk of seeing the same person over and over and over (I know someone who's experienced this happening -- and he was DYING to see the alternate). There must be SOME way around this.

It is frustrating. I've seen Kevin Mambo in the show twice, and he's fantastic. I'd love to go back and see Sahr Ngaujah, but there doesn't seem to be any way to plan for it.

Since neither performer is a "name," it seems like they wouldn't lose business by letting people know which shows were which. ah well...I'll see Sahr eventually.

Just an idea...lets see if this works: can we verify any sort of consistency one performance date to the next? For example, I saw Mambo at a Saturday afternoon performance. Anyone see Ngaujah at a Saturday matinee?

Perhaps we can get a chart going, should this work out.

Anyone catch a Wednesday night performance? I'm deciding whether to buy Wed or Thursday, and based upon Sauja's comments, it looks like Mambo is pretty much a lock for Thursday performances.
