it seems there are a lot of homo phobes out there.......let the boy be himself whatever that is......should we be concerned.......it reminds me of seeing a papered dress rehearsl of FAME about 5 years ago............I was sitting in back of a young woman, who was probably a PA or some other 'gofer' job. She ws sitting with a couple of her girl friends and was enjoying pointing out members of the cast and telling her friends, which ones were gay......what a lack of class, to say the least......i hope by now, she is a sales clerk at a Wal-Mart in some distant part of the US
All you people who were bashing him...seriously, grow up.

He was certainly dressed far better than many of the grown men that were there! Quite poised and self-possessed and a pleasure to watch...
If he is a good Actor, why not? It's all about make believe. If he is this way normally, than he fits the part but isn't really acting it now is he?
Now I know he must be Gay! Really though, some people just are made to look good. The rest of us, have to work harder at it, that's all. It is worse though, when you just know someone spent all of this money to look badly. Nothing worse than paying someone to make you look just awful. I recommend they try-out their looks before the shows, rather than chance the fact that someone can really make everyone look wonderful.

I have no problem with the kid. I have a huge problem with the writers and producers of Ugly Betty, not only for their lazy presentation of a gay stereotype, albeit a charming and sympathetic one, but also for casting a rather stunning girl to play Betty. There's plenty of ugly actresses out there.

I don't think they made him the way he is by casting him in that role, although he is perfect for it.
But I do agree with the point of an ugly actress playing Betty. I thought that myself.
I am going to agree with some others comments- stop picking on the kid! I think he is a very talented young man and I bet he was very nervous. Give him a break.
I think the point of America Ferrara playing UGLY BETTY is that under normal circumstances, she is an attractive woman. But in the ridiculous world of high fashion, her looks are not considered "appropriate." I've always thought that was the joke, anyway.
"I hope that MARK INDELICATO doesn't read these posts."
In case he does, I love your work on Ugly Betty, and congrats on being part of the Tonys, at 12 no less!

Then why dress her down? I think it's pretty clear that we're NOT supposed to find Betty attractive, and she's altogether pretty unfortunate-looking. If the point is that "normal-looking" people can't measure up in the world of high fashion, cast someone normal and don't attempt to make them look ridiculous. There's a difference between not being cut out for high fashion and having no sense whatsoever of personal style, just as there's a difference between ugly and made-to-look-ugly through bad styling choices (America definitely being the former). Even the least attractive people can do things to flatter themselves. That's what I've never gotten about that show. I know, I know -- the point is that Betty doesn't have to look like everyone else to be successful, and blah blah, but the logical part of my brain still screams, "get a makeover and wear something flattering!," especially knowing how beautiful the actress in the part really is.
"God I wish that they had let him open the show with "Good Morning Baltimore". It would have been the best performance of the night."
that might have just made my life.
Once again,
Unless you are doing, or have done what this young man has done, shut your pie hole.
He's adorable and doesn't need biteer people picking on him. I would have hoped most of you would be a little more tolerant.

Are you kidding me? That outfit was far from good, sorry, I would throw a fit if they want me to wear that bowtie and the awful red vest, even if I were 12, I wouldn't wear it.
