Oh, stop being such a bleeding heart. Let's keep mocking the nelly twelve year old!
Thanks elimeyer. You took the words out of my mouth. He's 12 years old, for God's sake (and used to performing in a studio, not in front of thousands of people). He was sweet and charming, I wish him the best in life.

He's precious. I just hope he didn't get beat up walking out of Radio City.

The thing is...between Ugly Betty and last night, he runs the risk of becoming TOO precious...where does the talented kid end and the affectations begin.

Kringas don't ya think that some of the rage directed at this young man is mis-focused self-loathing? We beat up on the effeminate 12 year old we were to prove ourselves the man we are?

Oddly enough, this thread was started by a Trish. Does Trish have a young gay man inside of her that she hates? Is that why this kid gave her the heebie jeebies?
The boy is the typical stereotype of what a young gay teen who likes Broadway should act like. That's why it bothers me a little bit. Because we all aren't/weren't like that.

Probably more than once.

But - unless he's putting on an act - THAT'S HOW THE KID ACTS!
I believe when they grow into being a talented Adult? More and more "kids" are turning into great performers. Especially in this lovefest with teens we seem to have here in America. What matters is that we, as Americans, give them the chance to be famous for something besides what they did as kids.
Of course though, I do believe in talent. Just because you had a part because you were cute as a kid, doesn't guarantee you a spot as an Adult. Though it should gain you the respect we give others though for a job well done. Considering how many kids lose what money they made in their youths to their Parents or bad investments, they deserve the same break and recognition for their currant work, that the rest of Hollywood or Broadway grants others.
Brooke Shields, Matthew Broderick, Christina Applegate are just what comes to mind right now. Good examples of Actors who made it past Primetime pitfalls to Broadway and other venues because they kept at it, got the training and respect of many in different Medias. It is we, the Public, who have to give these kids some time to mature, gracefully. Or else we end up with a lot of Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohans, who were exploited as kids and can't seem to function well in the Adult World of exploitation.
Though I do believe, even "cash-cows" like these can mature and get past these ridiculous images, if they grow-up. It may however, never happen. You just hate to see any Actor end up this way and I would hope those who can influence them would try because as much as the Public loves to see Actors crash and burn, some of us would just really like to see them grow up and be good happy people who can do wonders with their money besides getting drunk and arrested all of the time.
Obviously, Kringas, next year, they should just have Clint Eastwood host, because only macho straight men like Broadway.

This kid has a ridiculous image? Cause he showed up on the Tonys, read his lines correctly and told everyone he loves musicals? Then why aren't we hand wringin over Zach BRaff? He did that too. g
God leave the kid alone you bunch of queens lol
Hes a kid on a show who plays a great part very well, hes probably gay, he was at the tony's (what made sense), he may or may not have a great career in front of him.
THE END

And teenagers who celebrate all things Gwen Verdon might want to think before they cast aspersions of the stereotypicalness of others.
LJAY899 -I dont recall him telling everyone "Look at me Im a gay kid who likes musicals and this is how we all are"
Bloody hell
I think(hope) Americans would already know that stereotyping is bull****.
Thats who he is, thats how he acts , thats what he likes, hes not representing anyone but himself.
And teenagers who celebrate all things Gwen Verdon might want to think before they cast aspersions of the stereotypicalness of others.
- Gwen Verdon was a sex goddess. If I'm not mistaken - in her time she appealed to A LOT straight men. I don't go around worshiping her or trying to be her. I just simply believe she was the greatest female Broadway dancer of all time. And I feel I have to continue her legacy for future generations. But simply bringing up Verdon as a way to insult me just proved that you have a really catty nature. Another thing - Verdon isn't even a gay icon. She doesn't appeal to the gay community like Carol Channing does. Pointless to bring her up.
I'm just tired of the stereotypes Broadway has.

Mark Indelicato- he's like the one person who wasn't at the rehearsal who I wondered about where he'd be, what he'd be doing, etc. because I didn't hear his name mentioned anywhere at rehearsals ...
... look as if he had slept in his tuxedo ...
Quite possible. He was in Puerto Rico Saturday for Ana Ortiz' wedding (his mother, Hilda on Ugly Betty).
p.s. He turns 13 [xxthis weekxx] in five weeks (as corrected).
pps: If you all let him.

"I thought putting him into the show was really an inspired choice. Way to think outside the box."
Unlike Fantasia.
Man, stop ragging on the kid. If you'd seen Ugly Betty, then you wouldn't be such prigs. He's funny, touching and believable.
And before anyone else posts anything negative about him, think about this:
Would YOU have the guts to get up and do what he does every day?
And he's only 12.
The fact that this sentence:
'And I feel I have to continue her legacy for future generations.'
Exists in the same post as THIS sentence:
'I'm just tired of the stereotypes Broadway has.'

Not this week, he turns 13 in July.
i hate the stereotype that if youre a guy who likes Broadway, youre gay...
and im with ljay on this subject.
and the kid might be annoying and probably is gay, but who really cares, hes 12. all he did was present...
'i hate the stereotype that if youre a guy who likes Broadway, youre gay...'
Why? What's wrong with either liking Broadway or being gay?
um, im not really sure what youre asking robbie, but what i was trying to say was i dont like how people automatically assume youre gay if youre a guy who likes Broadway.
thats all i was saying, haha.
And what I'm asking is 'Why do you care if they think your gay?'
because people just seem to treat you differently for no good reason.
haha, i dont know, kinda off topic...
