Antonique's last day was supposed to be the 7th. However, she did just extend by a few weeks. Her new last day is the 29th. According to her myspace this will be the only extension.

As to who will be the next Mimi . . . no one seems to know. Or at least no one is saying.

Maybe some of that green is gonna come off! -Deodorant Elphie. No body likes a stinky witch! -I think we've covered the hair, we'll get to that. -Clean underclothes. That's all I'm gonna say. -Look at your posture. That's no way to be popular! -Bed made, room straightened. We've done that. -Colors blended. Oookay. -But the most important thing to have, to make yourself popular, is to keep your beautiful smile." ~Kristin Chenoweth in her last performance of the song "Popular"

It's more as no one really cares nor follows the change-over at RENT anymore.

Sorry.

Have you seen her since she came back?

I kind of want a new Mimi too . . . but am not quite ready to see her go yet either. Her "die" gives me goosebumps and she is just so nice to talk to before and after shows.

um, obviuously people DO care or there wouldn't be threads like this. What a jerky comment to make.

I ADORED Jamie, I liked her better than Antoinique actually. I'm curious who they have lined up next too.

seems like the powers at RENT don't even know who will be the next mimi...I heard that they wanted Antonique to stay until june. Maybe in the interim we will get a little karmine action? I'd totally be down for that. Karmine is awesome.

Wasn't there talk that the last girl on tour, Krystal Brown, was coming in?

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Jaime was really, really good.

If you ask me, Antonique is better now than she was before. I was not a huge fan of hers during her last run, but now she has really grown on me. Her acting can still be a bit over the top in spots, but she makes up for it with her singing.

I have heard a few rumors about who may come in after her, but had not heard anything about Krystal.

Would of course love to see Karmine go on some before the next Mimi comes in, but I doubt she would go on for more than a couple of days. re: Who will be the next Mimi?

I've seen her a few times. She is always awesome. Scares the crap out of me up on those stairs every single time.

Really? No one else has ever really scared me on the stairs . . . although Jaime did make me a little nervous on the bars. But when Karmine is a few stairs down from the top and flings her whole body in the air with both feet off of the ground . . . yeah, scares the crap out of me every time.

I was just thinking about this the other day. Has Mimi ever had an accident?

I think it may have been in 2001, Karmine ran into the sculpture when she ran off after "Another Day". She didn't go back on for "Will I?" and by "Christmas Bells", Antonique (back in her swing days) was on. Karmine was out for a few weeks because of a black eye. As for "Out Tonight", there is a supposed day where Maya Days totally wiped out on the bars and fell back onto the wall. That's it, really. Oh, though I have heard several instances where Mimis mike goes out and she gets a handheld... and that number is not fun with a handheld.

poor Karmine! I am always afraid that Mimi will fall on those bars - also that Angel won't make that table jump in Today For You

While not relating to the bars/stairs, apparently one time on the tour, (don't know the actors) Roger set Mimi's hair on fire during Light My Candle.
