Which musical this season do we think will recoup the fastest?
My guess is either DEH or Natasha pierre

Just between those two the clear answer is DEAR EVAN HANSEN. Much smaller show. The difference in case size for one, and renovations that went into the Imperial for THE GREAT COMET couldn't have been cheap.

DEH for sure. Small cast and selling out. Great Comet will probably take a while because of all the renovations.

Nevermind, my original reply was not entirely on topic and could have been construed as hijacking the thread, so I'm deleting it.
But I did point out that Dolly has probably already recouped and if not, will certainly do so soon, due to advance sales. I don't know whether that will make it the fastest to recoup this season due to the other shows already mentioned.

DEH. Comet may never recoup. Dolly cannot recoup pre-opening. It will only have the revenue from the pre-opening frames.

^ Just to verify, this is correct. The $ isn't theirs, yet.

It's correct in that is in escrow until the date of each individual show, but you can still announce "recoupment" knowing that the investors will officially be paid back on such and such date. Cameron McIntosh did this with the revival of Miss Saigon in the UK, announcing recoupment the day after it opened

You can say anything you want, but it is inaccurate, on Broadway in the 21st Century. It is no different than saying some show is Broadway bound. It's show business: if some people believe the BS good on you.
The Mackintosh (I assume that is who you meant) situation is quite different as to both place, time and logistics.

This should be the slogan of BWW
