It hardly seems fair. Whoopi has had 15 or so of her films turned into musicals and Mrs. Long has had 0.

I think it really says a lot about the current state of the American Musical Theatre.

Troupe Beverly Hills! As long as the "It's cookie time" number can be in the stage version I'm so on board!

Honest to God I was just thinking that there should be a "Troop Beverly Hills" musical this evening. A simply brilliant film that deserves the stage treatment.

That's the go-to choice but let's take a look at other films ripe for musicalization-

OUTRAGEOUS FORTUNE
THE MONEY PIT
HELLO AGAIN
CAVEMAN

I mean the list goes on and on, folks.

Also, if anyone wasn't aware, Long just wrapped filming on two made-for-TV Christmas movies: "The Dog Who Saved The Holidays" with Dean Cain and "Merry In-Laws" as Mrs. Claus to George Wendt's Santa.

I want Sister Act 2 on stage. With a show-stopping number called "Cold Beans and Collard Greens"

Lol. I love all these made-for-TV Christmas movies. What's the channel that does the 25 days of Christmas with a different movie every night?

I agree that Hello Again would make a great musical.

I think thats ABC Family that does the 25 days thing. And I can't wait for whatever Hallmark movie comes out for Christmas. Those are my absolute favorites.

WhizzerMarvin, you're thinking of ABC Family. Some of the movies are on Netflix. I'm embarrassed to admit I've watched some.

YES!!! I love that ABC Family Christmas marathon. Did you guys ever see "A Boyfriend For Christmas" where Kelli Williams asks Santa for a bf and gets one?

What about a musical version of the 1995 Freaky Friday she did with Gaby Hoffman?

Freaky Friday is being done for Disney with music by Ryan Scott Oliver.

What about The Brady Bunch Movie or sequel? Though, the first would be sad without Davy Jones.

I want a Troop Beverly Hills musical for the group choreography number of 'The Freddie' alone.

And to get the overpriced Wilderness Girl t-shirt sold at the theater.

Let's also bring this full circle and have Jenny Lewis do the score.

Has there been a musical adaptation of Clue? If not, why has it NOT happened?

Shelley long was not in CLUE.

And Jenny Lewis is busy writing the score to the musical of her film, THE WIZARD so she's sadly unavailable.

I know she wasn't. The film just crossed my mind because you know what's also under-represented on Broadway, Eileen Brennan films!

And since I had the unfortunate experience of seeing Happy Days the musical, something like Cheers: The Musical cannot be too far off.

Night Shift could work in all seriousness. Actually, a bunch of Ron Howard 80s comedies could work on stage.

There was a CLUE musical, though - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clue_(musical)

O? What about DR. T AND THE WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN? The Altman/Almodovar musical.
