I agree about "Night Shift."
Also, stupid as it would likely be, "The Money Pit" could easily be a mostly-one-set stage show with the ever-transforming/repairing/breaking scenery as a selling point.
Again, would likely suck, but could be... interesting.

I've been wanting Troop Beverly Hills the Musical ("Making it Big on Broadway!" or "It's Cookie Time!") for years now. It's reached the point where I've tried imagining where the songs would go.
Tell me, what do we think of a number called "Boyoyong" (sung as "boy-oy-ong") for the party scene? I mention this because I've fallen in love with the following (admittedly rather silly) couplet:
"If a girl has boyoyong
it makes a man sproyoyong!"
I just picture that line leading into the dance break.

But if you're going to do that, why not go all out and adapt WAR OF THE ROSES? No Shelley Long, but tearing a house down is more fun that putting one up. And Stephen Sondheim can ghost-write the Danny DeVito numbers.
Now that we've mentioned it, if somebody had the balls to go with the movie's ending, WAR OF THE ROSES might not be such a bad idea for a show.
(We'll sub a Pilates or Tae Bo or whatever's-trendy class for the demo derby, since every musical now has its aerobics number... and the whole show is a "demo" of a different kind.)

Posted: 9/12/12 at 9:17amI'd love to see Troop Beverly Hills as a musical! Perhaps someone like Sherie Rene Scott for Phyllis and Mary Testa or Andrea Martin for Velda?
