Tyson and Jones couldn't sell out, and neither could Glenn Close. I don't think it has to do with anything really. The Humans is a fairly depressing, bleak play and it's doing fine without a star.

i just don't think Eclipsed is the kind of play that people are clamoring to see. And I don't think she's the star people thought she was. She hasn't headlined any movies, no big tv role, etc. 

Blackbird is suffering too.

There is no longer that much of a price difference between straight plays and musicals. That being said, people will than opt for a big splashy musical over a drama unless their is a huge name in it. If they can see a musical for the same price as a small drama, the musical will win 9 times out of 10

And again, I think you can't under-estimate word of mouth.  The Humans seems to be very well liked. Despite the rather odd final moments, its a very funny play unlike ECLIPSED or BLACKBIRD

Does anyone know where the TDF seats are for the show? I'd get them as long as they're in orchestra. If not, I'd rather try rush. Anyone know where rush seats are as well?

Regardless, Blackbird is my favorite play of the season.

It's great Lupita has the Oscar, but aside from her voice in a bunch of movies, her only other big credit is that Liam Neeson plane movie Non-Stop. Maybe if Danai Gurira was in the play as well as writing it, they'd get some traction.
