Why the heck is Roger Bart leaving the Producers this weekend?

Maybe he's just tired of the show....he has been doing it on and off for nearly 7 years.

Or maybe not since he was ALWAYS only going to be in it for a short amount of time. This was decided before he started working with Danza.

Hey there Mister frogs_fan85 up there. I met you today! Don't forget, Tony Danza is a fsh. LOL
Yes, word from Kevin Ligon is that Roger has two movie roles. I'm not pleased about this. But I still love Hunter Foster, so it's okay I suppose.

So does Hunter Foster just sit at home and wait for whoever is playing Leo Bloom to leave?

Apparently.

That's what I do. I just sit at home waiting by the phone all day waiting for Stro to call me to tell me Roger's gone, time for me to step in...surprisingly she's yet to call me...odd.

Bart is too much of a pro to quit because he is "sick of the show". If that were the case, he would not have agreed to do the show. There is something else going on here.

What could it be? I know he's got movies, but he shouldn't just come back for a month and then leave. That's just a huge tease to everyone who isn't able to get out there in a month.

He had originally planed a contract extension through March. I guess for one reason or another, it didn’t happen. But he did not “quit” Producers. His original contract was up. Im sure he’ll be back.
"Have they come yet?"

It must be difficult to turn down an offer to come back to a show when you're between jobs. After all, we have to put food on the table, don't we?

You make a good point there. I suppose a steady income's important, but I'd rather he left every six months and came back in another six instead of vanishing for a year, coming back for a month, and then dissapearing again.
'tis dissapointing, you know?

The short stints in the show seem rather disruptive. Now that Tony Danza is in the show, is Roger considered box office draw (I realize he's appeared in movies and television)?

I would say he definitely is box office draw! And that's not just cause my username is i_heart_roger_bart. lol. But really, I've seen people who are outside waiting only for Roger and sometimes, they're many more than the Danza fans. And I know a handful of people who have tickets for early Feb to only see Roger.

If you throw change at Roger he takes his shirt off and dances for a minute.

.....anywho....
Yes, he is doing the movies. Can't we just be happy for him?
