So who will be performing as Leo Bloom this next week? Is Hunter Foster coming back earlier than planned?

Yeah, Hunter comes back on Tuesday. And as far as "Can't we just be happy for him?" goes, I am happy for him. It's really great to see him get the appreciation he deserves.

When his return was originally announced, he was the reason I was going to finally see it. I still plan on seeing it before it closes, but I'm a little let down. Oh well. It's life, I'll move on!
