Wicked 12/23/05

Hey everyone, I am thinking of going to see Wicked for the first time on December 23rd. Now, I really want to see Ben, as he is one of my idols, does anyone know if he is schedualed to be out? Or does anyone know if Megan is going to be out? Are they gonna take a vacation or anything? I'd like to know before I buy, because I really want to see Ben and Megan. Thanks!

Not neccesarily. If I remember correctly, the only lead out the first Christmas it played was Norbert and that was becuase of an injury, not the holiday.

believe me, although you're planning to go to see megan and ben, it'll be shoshana who you'll be talking about after the show is over
"...But Kungurtseva reels off multiple fouettes and the tape is stopped so she can take a bow. The Jester, an abomination introduced to Swan Lake in Soviet times, extorts applause from the audience. The cuts don't help the storytelling, the production is bare bones and they go for the '50s-style happy ending. The audience cheers like mad at the end. It's the Russian ballet, after all..."

Stage_door, I agree!

Ben is better than Megan and Shoshana.

Speak for yourself. I was unimpressed.

speak for YOURself....I was SOOOO impressed...probably the best vocals I've ever heard live on a Broadway stage. She had great ownership of the role, and raised the stakes for her character, regardless of the fact that the script is kind of wacky and all over the place.

shoshana is freaking amazing.

Well, if Shoshana stood out to you, that's your opinion.

I knew Shoshana was good going into it, and came out impressed by Megan, maybe because I didn't know anything about her.

Just go into it not really taking other people's opinions with you, and you'll come out feeling much better, than being disappointed.

Actually, around the holidays is one of the best times to see lead performers. Most shows won't allow them to take vacations around that times, as it's traditionally one of the biggest weeks (money wise) of the entire year.

Pipe down children, they were ALL good.

I was more impressed with Ben than I thought I'd be. Considering what I've heard of the other wizards. He didn't make it a boring, pointless character by any means.

Megan will definitely be onstage for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Bank on it.

true

while i do believe that shoshana is broadway's official leading lady right now thanks to her powerhouse and CONSISTENT performances, megan is doing a stellar job also. she is ver, very cute

ben, the jury is still out on him. but i love the way he dances up the role a bit, brings it back to life

JudasIscariot just go and enjoy such a fantastic musical experience. It's not about who is better than who, it is about appreciating a very good musical.

LOL... have you heard the forbidden broadways " no leading lady"? It's one of those things that everyone should be there. but one never really knows. however, the wicked gods have rounded up a very talented group, and the standbys are usually a pleasant surprise. Hope you enjoy the show!
