Two of my friends and I want to get cancellation tickets to December 29th (the wed. mat.) If we get there at 9:00 AM and the box office opens at 10:00 and we stay all the way up until two, what are the chances of getting three tickets? Do we need to get there earlier? If anyone knows anything that could help us that would be great! Thanks so much.

There's really no predicting the best time to get in line. I've been there at 7:00 am before and people were already in line. I've also been at 9:00 am and been the first. The important thing is to be one of the first in line - so if it was me I would probably be there by 7:00 am. So much of it depends on weather and just how many people are wanting those tickets! Good luck!
In my opinion and my experience, it doesn't really matter what time you get there. I got great seats at 7:00 pm before an 8:00 pm show, waited for about 20 minutes. Plus a lot of people in line don't want to spend 100 dollars so they wait and wait, while others who are willing to pay get to go ahead. Just my thoughts! :)
Jasey- when did you go to the cancellation line at 7:00 AM when people were already there?
Im thinking that there might not be as many people in the middle of winter when its 35 degrees out. Did you end up getting tickets? Thanks.
I would think you would be fine getting there at 9:00am. If for some reason you didn't get tickets, you could even stay in line until the evening performance if you were able to and were really desperate for tickets. That's why I like doing cancellation on days when there are two performances. But I think 9:00am should be fine.

admanrich - In July the cancellation line started before 7 am and it was totally crazy then and loooong. That day I did not get tickets, but the next day we went earlier and did get them. When I was there in January, it was easy to get cancellations and very short lines. I got them in January just by going an hour before the show. It really depends on the weather I think. The colder it is, the easier to get tickets! :)
I got tickets off the cancellation line twice, once I got 2 and once I got 5, both times in the orchestra and both times I got there when the BO opened, not earlier.
On Kristin's second-to-last day, I was there before 7:00am. There were about 5 people in front of me. I got tickets (really good ones), but cancellation line was pretty crazy around that time. Since then it's died down a lot. I would expect Idina's last few days to be pretty bad, but on Dec. 29th I think you should be fine.
Thanks for your help.
now what are the chances of getting any of them together or even all 3?
What about the lottery? I have a friend coming over from London who wants to see the show. It would have to be THAT weekend, wouldn’t it? Ugh. I have a feeling she’s going to be disappointed…
The lottery is extremely hard to win. They call about 10 names out of about 500 people. Cancellation line is better, but its a lot more expensive. If moneys not the issue, then cancellation line is better, but you have to shell out $100 a ticket, but the lottery is only $25 for front row, but its much harder to win.
Thanks for the info. I guess I'll go with the cancellation line then. With fingers crossed...
