I am looking to see Wicked again when it comes to Toronto in June and was just wondering who is currently in the cast, and if you would recommend seeing the cast? I do not want to be disappointed in the cast, because I saw it on Broadway with Rachel Tucker and Kara Lindsay, and they were mind-blowing, I would want my jaw to hit the floor again (because it did, literally).

see it, but know your expectations..."
Mary Kate (and Ginna Claire) is only contracted until late June. Unless MK extends, there should be a new duo!
Ginna Claire's contract ends June 3rd and she is planning on leaving then, but MK's is a bit longer. Maybe until August or September, not totally sure. (GC is my cousin so this is confirmed.)
Apparently Ginna Claire has extended through the Albuquerque run which would take her to October. So I don’t think we should expect a replacement announcement just yet.

I heard from someone I know who works for Mirvish that in person lottery tickets will be available. That might be a good option for picking up a cheap ticket if you are unsure about how good the cast will be.
also if you are a season subscriber, there are tickets for as low as $44.

Mary Kate Morrissey and Ginna Claire Mason both play their final performance (as of today, 5/31) on October 28, 2018.
can’t speak for rachel tucker but i saw the broadway cast last summer with jennifer dinoia and kara lindsay. kara lindsay was AMAZING and by far the best glinda i have ever seen. i would definitely still see it on tour, especially if you can get cheap tickets, but i would not go in there expecting it to be as good as you saw it in new york.
Any updates on the current US tour? I’m assuming there’s only one touring company? I woke up this morning to an unexpected email with a discount code so I jumped on it and got a relatively cheap ticket ($72 total) for a front right mezzanine seat in Tulsa on September 6th. When I lived near Tulsa, I saw many productions from this area and the sight-lines are awesome. I now live in Oklahoma City, but Oklahoma City’s 2018-2019 season doesn’t include Wicked so I’ll gladly make the 100 minute drive to Tulsa to re-visit Oz. I saw Wicked twice the first time it came through Tulsa. I have been wanting to see it again so this felt like kismet. Anyway, any thoughts on the current touring cast? Also, do they have most (or anything different) of the merchandise that is listed online for the Broadway production? Has the program been updated or is still the one with pics of Menzel/Chenowith? I already have that program plus a t-shirt and a ballcap (which I don’t think I ever wore) from when I saw it the first two times. Thanks!
I saw it in the last few months, and it isn't as magical as it once was. The cast was tired and some of the tech has been scaled back. I guess that's what you get for a tour that has been on the road for 9 or so years (this 2nd National tour began in 2009).

It’s been since the end of January since I’ve seen it, but I thought Mary Kate Morrissey and Gina Claire Mason were an absolutely amazing team. I wrote a review here in Post 9 and 10...

How so? It seems to me that nothing has been taken out, but only new effects added in.

Thanks for this. I could feel your passion for the show clearly coming through. I’m even more excited now to revisit Oz! I’ve already started making a list of the merchandise I want. That’s assuming they have most of the items listed on the broadway website. Do you recall if they had the long sleeve song lyrics t-shirt, the Shiz University sweatpants, and if the program is updated?
Regarding Tag’s comment about the production feeling tired, I appreciate your input, too!
I’m sure I’ll have a grand time. I even enjoyed the ramshackle non-equity touring production of Rent I caught in Madison in January even though I acknowledged its faults.
I don’t recall all of the souvenirs available at the stands in the Benedum Center, but I did take pictures from the upper floor looking down and they are in that same post I linked before. The souvenir program I had to go dig out from my walk-in closet (actually the second bedroom, but I live alone) and it has an insert with the current casts names (at that time), but the pictures in the program were not of them. It still is a cool souvenir.
Thanks for this. Those pics are very helpful. They appear to have everything I want. I might be in trouble though. I see they also have a scarf and flying monkey plush. How can I resist? The scarf can join my Book of Mormon and Dear Evan Hansen scarves. And the flying monkey plush can join my Aladdin bear and Book of Mormon frog. I better start saving up. Lol
I’ll probably skip the program as it sounds like the one I have around here somewhere (probably in my garage) from last time I saw it. I could change my mind though. Lol
Just wanted to chime in on the current leads. I've seen Mary Kate five times (my first being her first performance last September) and she's easily one of my favorite Elphabas (if not my favorite). She just GETS her, in a way no one else I've seen has. She sings the role wonderfully, but her character work really stands out. She and Ginna Claire have the most genuine chemistry I've ever seen, which make sense, as they're best friends in real life. As far as I'm concerned the tour is in fantastic hands no matter who you see (I've seen MK's standby, Chelsea Emma Franko twice and both Glinda understudies), however, I hope everyone gets the chance to experience MK's take on the role.
That’s great to hear! I think I’m seeing the second performance in the Tulsa run so I’m hoping that contributes to an energetic production (cast should have a few days rest plus a new town).
