Does Wicked ever give out discounts? Does anyone know a code or know of any discounts for it? My sis has never seen a broadway show (she actually hate them) until I got her listening to Wicked and we really ant to take her around Christmas time. (She's never even been in New York before.)
The only thing that you can do for Wicked is to try the lottery. You go to the theatre 2 1/2 hours prior to show time and put your name in the lottery. At 2 hours before, they draw names and the winners get front orchestra seats for $26.50 (I think that's the price). The show is selling to well for them to even need to THINK about discounts.
A bit of a hi-jack here, but, I'd like to book one of those restricted view / somewhat cheap seats next year, are those available online or do i have to call up the box office?

Do they still sell those? I think you have to go to the box office. But keep in mind the box office staff are notorious for lying about avaiability. I once found a few seats on tickemaster, but didn't want to pay for the ticketmaster charges. When I went to the box office, they claimed they no availability for like a month. When I checked again, sure enough the tickets were still available.
There are no discounts.
Wicked still sells partial view tickets online and at the box office. They do not sell them on the phone, and if you call ticketmaster and ask about them, the operator will have no idea what you're referring to. The seats are a great deal, if you can get them farther back (rows G and H are the best).
Come to San Francisco! It's closing soon and they're desperate!
There is one "discount" that allows you to bypass Ticketmaster service charges; however, it is only available for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday performances 8/31-10/28/10. From what it looks like, it is only on orchestra seating, but you can try in other areas of the theater. You must purchase by 9/1. The code is PLUMTMF.
Also, you can use code PLUM to access reserved orchestra seating for Tuesday, August 24th 8pm, Wednesday, August 25th 2pm & 8pm and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in September/October. You must also purchase those by 9/1.
Additionally, there aren't too many shows that offer discounts during xmastime.
