Yeah, group labeling can be very damaging and stereotypical in the long run. Patronus is one wise man. Geez, I was so boring as a teenager. I am 24 but I wish I had the chance to be a teenage theater geek. Too much anime hehe
renthead here
Ah! Patronus just labeled himself!
Not a bad one either.
I was being ironic. And not in that Alanis Morrissette incorrect way.
ClumsyDude, I love your icon!
That's really all I wanted to say.

I love both and I'm not ashamed to say it. Wicked got me into Broadway but RENT has sustained my love for the past 2 years.
Agreed, Defy. And really is there any reason to feel shame being either? To each his own.
Not a draculahead BSo?
I am a RENThead for life and will always put it first. I will also never forget sitting in the front row of wicked with Idina and Kristen. Although Rent has touched me and moved me, watching Idina belt out Defying Gravity is the only time I have started crying from the sheer power of someones voice live.

i am a RENThead and will be for the rest of my life. i love wicked, but rent is a part of me, wicked is just good fun.
Well, I like both... but I relate more to Wicked, than Rent. Thing is, I'm not a teen nor am I a follower of any of the actors that have been in the show. I'm just your average Pagan practicing solitary broom flyer that was a long ago fan of the book. I was introduced to it back in the 90's at a Pagan literary get together. I related to the book's "Elphaba" concept long before the concept was turned into a live character and made to sing from the rafters at the Gershwin Theatre. Add in the fact that I collect witch figurines, with the Wicked Witch of the West being the most collected, it's only natural I would gravitate towards all things witchy.
I admit I was apprehensive about such an intense and some-what dark story being turned into a Broadway musical, but as I see it, while the musical is very different from the book, it does rework the characters well... enough so that it doesn't bug me that Nessa has arms and Fiyero has a relationship with Glinda.

I like both, but I love RENT more.
Just saw Rent for the first time last night and that was the movie version, not the stage version.
I'd have to go with Wicked over Rent right now. Perhaps because I know the Wicked material better and saw it live. Loved Rent though.
I do agree with the assessment of why Wicked is popular for teenage girls. The thing I liked best about Wicked? Elphaba was doing her thing regardless of her relationship with Fiyero. While it was a part of who she was, it didn't become all of who she was. Anyway, it's all of topic.
I'm proud to be a fan of both.
I'm with Patronus, I never call myself a "Renthead"- even if others have referred to me as one.
Depends on the day. I suppose I have Renthead tendencies, but there are times in which I'm ashamed to be one.
"Renthead tendencies" makes it sound like symptoms of a mental disorder
Well, you know...
Sometimes, I experience an outburst or two.
Heh, I'll admit I can have the occasional episode as well...

Even I may have at some point displayed one or two "tendencies," no matter how much I dislike the lable.

Wicked heads, Renthead... why cant we all just get ALONG?!
I don't see any enmity btwn the two sides at all. Unless we start up a MXC with Wickedheads vs Rentheads. Wouldn't that be fun ^^
