I'm sure Wicked would do great in Japan. The Japanese seem to flock to stuff like this.

I love Japanese Cast Recordings, My old roomate had the Japanese cast of Gone with the Wind, the musical on CD, pretty amazing. I'd love to hear their take on "something baaaaaad"

Well its going to be an Universal Studios, so its probably going to be a shorter version. Plus the article said "adapted" so they might change the book around a little.

My roommate is from Japan, him and a lot of his friends speak English pretty well, but were are born and raised in Japan. They. Love. Wicked. He takes his girlfriend to it all the time, they sing the songs and spend all night on YouTube.
So it's official. The Japanese LOVE Wicked. Hands down.

Musical theatre is huge in Japan. Traditionally shows open there first after Broadway than just about anywhere else. WICKED will be huge there.
