Was someone giving you a backstage tour/permission to touch all of the costumes/props? If not, wow, that was extremely rude.

Oh c'mon, no need to rain on their parade there. I'm sure they know better than to try on and touch things without permission.

I am not...he didn't say someone was showing them around...and touching things is a big no-no, that is all. As is taking pictures.

You just shouldn't touch things. Haven't you heard of "don't touch anyone's props/costume pieces unless they are yours."

Well, then I would have to blame the backstage staff. How stupid must one be to let audience members wander around backstage unaccompanied? That is irresponsible on their part.

That's where it crosses from fan to FANATIC and rude. If the performer obviously doesn't want to deal with fans, respect their privacy and don't chase them across the street.

That's awesome though that you got to go backstage like that! I'm going to try the SF lotto for the first few days, so I'll keep an eye out for you! (BWW people unite, baby)

I agree with BwayTheatre and Loud. We aren't trying to spoil anyone's fun - we are just wondering if they got permission to play with props, and costumes.

well they took down their link and edited their original post and deleted their reply to you... yeah they seem just thrilled. I'm not saying you're that kind of person normally, but you did jump down their throat kind of quickly with accusations. I have nothing against you, honest I don't, but I would've enjoyed seeing posts about future experiences and now I doubt they'll share.

We're not trying to spoil any joy, just to add a dash of caution. Moving a prop could cause serious problems in the show. BwayTheatre11 and I were just raising a warning flag so they knew that from now on (in case they didn't). Not trying to trample any joy or anything.

1. He edited the main post after I said that.

2. I read his entire journal, because I am thrilled for him. It didn't say "thanks to ________ for showing us around and let us touch the costumes!"

3. He even said he was told NOT to take pictures.

4. I guess it is my opinion you shouldn't touch things like that backstage at any show...community theatre or on Broadway.

All of you need to calm down. All you had to say was we were given permission and move on.

It was a QUESTION.

And I'm sorry but chasing ANYBODY when they are obviously wishing to be alone IS rude! And notice that I didn't want you to think I was attacking you so I added that bit at the end of my post! We were really trying to NOT squash your joy.

you need to relize that some people are just jealous. they are not worth the time or the energy. best to ignore the negativity! i got to go backstage of wicked in ny and it was amazing, i'm always glad to hear when other people get that experience as well!

You guys do realize YOU are making this a big deal.

I am not jealous...I have got to be a part of more than one touring show backstage.
