Since there's already a post about funny Ave. Q lines, what are some of the funny/moving/best lines from Wicked? I can't wait for the book to come out! Winnie Holzman really did wonders for the show!

I've always loved the line in The Wizard and I where Elphaba says, "I'd be so happy, I could melt". Ironic, huh?

I don't understand why you can't just teach us history instead of all this harping on the past.

i think that the reasons a lot of those lines work is because Kristin is a comic genious

The line I posted was hilarious was Laura Bell Bundy said it as well, and she did it completely differently from Kristin.

Also Laura (and Kristin) does this line great:
"Have you ever thought of how you'd fair in captivity....prison? My personal opinion is you do not have what it takes. I hope you prove me wrong...I doubt you will."

And now I will shut up before I type up the entire book of this show.

i love the line when galinda changes her name.

i forget the actual line but its in the galinda/ elphie catfight when galinda says "speaking of taking things that don't belong to us" or something like that

and then moments later with "are you done...good" slap back.

""the gays love their presents. just wave something shiny in front of their faces, you can get whatever you want. Thats how we got manhattan from the gay indians" -Karen (W&G)"

Galinda: "Something is wrong. I didn't get my way...I need to lie down!"

Then later...

"This must be what everyone else feels like!"

Book is another term for the script, I think. Could be wrong though.

I love the line, "Stupid farmgirl... who takes a dead woman's shoes... must've been raised in a barn!" LOL I don't know, just the way Idina says it makes me laugh.

lol...swankified, i love that line too....I love how Idina changes her voice there and she speaks more like the witch in the movie would have.

I'm partial to the scene at the Ozdust Ballroom:
Galinda: "what's in this punch?"
Fieryo: "Mellons and lemons and pears"
Galinda: "oh my!"
