Wicked Tour Elphaba Understudy

Am I the only person who thinks that the understudy(Maria Eberline) for Elphaba is not that great?

I have seen the tour 3 times and Maria Eberline 2 times. Both times she has been flat. He defying gravity made me so sad.

Anyone else notice this?

If by "the second understudy(not the woman who is Nessa)" you mean Maria Eberline then nope, I didn't notice it- I though she was superfabulous.

Wow, seriously....after seeing her two times you really should know her name.

I didn't get to see her, but Jenna is fabulous!!

If you didn't enjoy someone's performance you probably won't remember their name...(I would, but not everyone).

I saw her yesterday at the matinee in Houston. She was fine, but I was definitely not blown away and, to me, Wicked is the kind of show that really needs an exceptional performance in that role to carry the show.

I have to admit I was in a foul mood as soon as I saw the sign up that both Elphaba and Glinda would have understudies on. I realize people get sick or injured, but it sure seemed like they were off because it was the last day in town. If the producers want to schedule off days for the stars, I understand, but they should build it into the schedule and adjust ticket prices accordingly the same way they charge less for Tuesday-Thursday nights.

Yes, I know understudies have a hard job, and they're gaining experience and learning to be stars. I also know they are sometimes just as good as the regular, but Wicked is not a show where that is likely to happen.

I'm pretty sure it was Emily Rozek, but I could be wrong because the little announcemnt slip fell out of my Playbill. Whoever it was was very good, but I was disappointed not to see Kendra Kassenbaum because her performance was the best reviewed of the entire cast.

You're lucky that you didn't see Kendra. She sucks. I thought Maria was good, but not great.

YES...It did see her too. In Houston. It was a nightmare. She killed the show. I felt sorry for everyone who had never seen the show before. Especially after seeing Stephanie. She is perfect.
