stupid pc... grumbles... anyone else notice the lack of a "popular" picture?
"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel

I might get crucified for this, but Shoshana looks terrible in the makeup, she's pretty without it on, but I just don't think she has the right bone structure or something to wear it and it makes her look chubby and homely.
I have to agree. The green makeup isn't flattering on everyone..... Updated On: 3/30/05 at 08:29 PM
Shoshana wears the exact same makeup as Idina and every other Elphaba that has graced the stage. Even I've worn it--look to the left at my User Picture-its all the same MAC Chromacake. Different skins take to it differently.
Well, then they should find a different shade for each person.
But I'm sure that the makeup isn't EXACTLY the same for all actresses, be it that one actress needs more than another, or one uses a different foundation or something.
Theres no foundation invloved. The Chroma cake is the foundation. It goes on wet, onto bare skin its like a watercolor paints. The process is the same for all of them. Its brushed on wet, then brushed out dry to smooth it out. Then water proof powder is puffed all over then the other color elements are added, purple for cheekbones and eyes and for any kind of contouring. Then another spray fixative by Ben Nye is added on her hands and mouth area. Its all the same stuff. MAC Chromacake in Landscape Green.
I dunno - they need to figure out Saycon's - I mean, other than her natural face (and voice) you couldn't tell she was black. However, by the end of the acts you could see ehr black skinf shining through.
What I think probably happened with Saycon is that they probably used some kind of mixing medium in addition to the Chroma Cake to put a more opaque green on top of her dark skin. Then since the Chroma wasn't on bare skin acting like a stain as its supposed to, it was very easily rubbed off when combined with a more emolient base. The Chroma cake on its own, when applied wet on bare skin, especially with all that waterproofing, is hard to remove-and from experience it takes a lot of scrubbing and lots of harsh soaps to remove it-and both times I used it, I was left with a green tinge to my skin no matter how much scrubbing I did in a hot shower.
