This was mentioned in a thread below but I thought I'd make a new thread for those who don't go rifling through old threads.
THE NEW WICKED UK WEBSITE IS UP AND RUNNING!
http://www.wickedthemusical.co.uk/index.php
And it looks great!
If you go through the photo gallery there are never-before-seen Joan Marcus photos or bigger/better quality older photos. Also, there are some new and exciting UK-only graphics and who else really likes the spinning animated cogs in the corner?
There's a few teasers too, like the Video and Cast links "To Be Announced Soon"
Check it out!

Well, we should all thank them for putting up photographs of all the different casts - sparing us all from the many:
"OMG!! IDINA'S PICS R UP ON THE LONDAN SITEE - THAT MEANS SHE"S OPENING THE SHOW WITH CHENO!!!!!!! OMG!!!!"
posts that inevitably would have followed.

Posted: 3/4/06 at 8:15pmI don't like the logo they are using. I like the Broadway one better because less (detail) is more.

Posted: 3/4/06 at 8:16pmNot in London. All their logos are tacky.

oh please!
tacky? f*ck off. You may recall the most recognisable musical logos from shows that originated in London. Les Mis, Cats, Saigon, Phantom.... need it go on?
I see nothing tacky about the current crop...Mamma Mia, We Will Rock You, Woman in White, the original Mary Poppins one.
each to their own but what a blanket statement

Mr.Kringas: I like the way your brain works. Like my professor says: "You're not entitled to an opinion. You're entitled to an informed opinion." UK has produced several amazing logos. Perhaps the most recognizable in history (considering the list you provided).
I like the UK Wicked logo. Doesn't replace the geniune-ness of the Broadway one, but it's still pretty to me. So we've got some generic faces to the witches, so what? At least London is letting the rest of the world know that they're taking their production seriously and want to have as creative a process as possible. I think we'll see a few more differences in the UK production (not drastic) that will hopefully rekindle a fresh appreciation for the show and to see that there is still plenty of artistic flexibility with the show. If it means starting with a new logo, then who are we to stop them! I'm quite excited.

David Garrison, from the national tour.
The new site is interesting. I don't like the shining metal logo, though.

Jon: That is David Garrison. He has been the Wizard on the Wicked National Tour for over a year and takes his final bow in the role tomorrow in Pittsburgh.

Posted: 3/4/06 at 11:35pmIt's a better site than the US version. The logo is actually beginning to grow on me for some reason.

Wow, the Brits on this message board are TOUCHY. Fine - all the home grown British shows have genius art work, but the poster designs for the American imports are fugly.

Posted: 3/5/06 at 11:06amyes some of our posters are tacky beyond belief but I guess if you come from America it is so much easier to spot cheap tack!

The Sound of Music is pretty inexcusable, even for the 1980's...
The Ragtime one changed pretty quickly to a purple background and show images
I don't see anything wrong with Kiss Me Kate or Rent - the latter is certainly better than the recent Broadway version.
My avatar for the upcoming Sunday in the Park... transfer to the Wyndham's - a stunning example of a UK logo (IMO)! I think it was your sweeping generalisation that rather rankled people, though (in a self-defeating statement) I have to agree that the silver Wicked logo is pretty tacky

I like the new Wicked site... we have tickets to the first preview !! I loved the show on broadway and am excited to see how it fares here...
