I totally agree mrkringas, that comment about 'bling' was totally foolish and wrong.

I'm very excited for Wicked's opening. Apparently there is a launch party in London around February 3rd and Eden Espinosa is flying over to perform at it. I'm not sure about the details.

As for the opening, Halloween is not a big holiday here in the UK. Only small kids celebrate it really, and it's certainly not the massive event it is in the US. It's not enough of an event to base opening a show on it.

I'm just so excited and am going to be booking my tickets on 5 March. Woo!

Does anyone think elphabas face looks alot diffrent in the picture
Yes, the face in the clock IS different... because it's a real person.
They have altered the art-logo into an colorized photo.

I'm anxious!!!

i love how they say "booking opens"...love the British! so classy. i think the american website looks cheap compared to this one.

That new picture of Elphaba and Glinda is amazing!
		     			gross,

Why did they take a show with such good graphic design and marketing behind it and make it so ugly and tacky. The simple White, Black and Green colour scheme was snazzy and clean. And by adding shading to the Elphaba and Glinda pic it makes it look cheap and makes them look like pinup girls.

This may just be the website guys, the actual logo may be the same as in the US.

I agree, i saw it at the Gershwin in September (Senblogh,Hilty,Ayers,Vereen,McClanhan), and loved it. The Wizard of Oz is popular over here, but not nearly to the degree that it is in the US. However, Wicked is a big, fun show that requires no thought to participate in the enjoyment. The Theatre that its going into is perfect for it, and whilst i think that some of the critics may hate it, im sure itll do well. Not convinced itll be a long runner, but itll certainly do very well.

Any idea if they're goign to alter the show any? Add a new song, deleate some songs? Flesh out the book a little more? or is it going to be a carbon copy of the new york show?

I just want to know what they mean by "it will be for London audiences"...
I heard they were going to do something to it, to make it tailored to English audiences, so I dont know what exactly means.,
The Big Ben Tower scared the crap out of me when it started chimming

Indeed- Wicked is VERY american show. Itll be interesting to see how they change it. In particular, the school scenes are particularly american and could be seen as an area for alteration.

Certainly will be interesting.

This was SO gonna be mentioned anyway...

My casting ideals-

Elphaba- Jenna Lee James
Glinda- Emma Williams
Fiyero- Martin Crewes
Wizard- Alun Armstrong
Morrible- Imelda Staunton
Nessarose- Alexandra Silber
