Wicked lotto?

Wicked lotto?#1

Posted: 12/20/08 at 2:26pm

How has the wicked lottery been lately? I'm thinking of trying for tomorrow's Matinee, I'm thinking because of the bad weather it'll be easy and I might actually have a chance at winning for once.

The thing is, EVERYONE thinks that with the bad weather no one will be there. In my experience, there are almost always MORE people there.

Besides...we all now know that you just want to do that lottery so you can go and scalp the tickets. Karma is a b****.

I was actually thinking about it, and since the Wicked lottery is always so hard to win I think I should be happy I win(If I win) and go see the show. I hear it's a great experience from the front row.

How old ARE you? Is English your primary language? What is the highest level of education you have completed?

I've always wondered these about you, coolkid.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I do like it from the front row.

Just don't count on the crowd being lower because of the weather. Weekend tourists are already in town and locals are used to the weather. Like I said, what I learned last year was that virtually everyone there thinks no one will come because of the weather. Seriously...I think the most crowded I've seen it was one bitterly cold, nasty day last year. Definitely topped the Saturday in the middle of summer crowd I'd seen previously.

I'll be nice and answer . . . I was in NY on business and did lotto on November 22nd (Saturday matinee). There were probably 100+ people there. Somehow my name was drawn. I was front, FAR house right. It was cool to be there to actually hear some of the chorus members sing (because they come right up to the edge of the stage). It was also amazing to see how intricate the costumes are. However, far right, there's a LOT of action blocked. It didn't get in the way of me enjoying the show, but just figured I'd let you know that front row isn't always that great.

I was back in NY on business the first week of December and was getting together with a friend Thursday night (12/4). She wanted to see Wicked so we put our names in . . . there were MORE people than the Saturday matinee, but (once again) SOMEHOW my name was drawn. We were the 2 DEAD center seats of the front row, and it was a GREAT place to sit.

With the lottery, SOMEONE has to win, so I say, try. . .it can't hurt. If you win . . . don't scalp the tickets!!! See the show and have fun!

You can't request anything. They draw the names, you line up in the order your name is drawn in, and the tickets are given out in a pre-prescribed method. The moderator has the names in a specific order and if you aren't STANDING in that order, he makes you go to the correct place. You go into the box office, hand them cash and you get your ticket. IF you get far left and right, be glad. The people sitting directly behind you PROBABLY paid $125+ and got them MONTHS in advance. Lottery is $26.25 per ticket.

You are such a selfish B*t*h! You are so spoiled and expect everything you want to be handed to you on a silver platter. Pay for the goddam ticket and be happy you annoying little @$$hole!

Sorry if that was a little harsh but you deserve it.

That made me LOL Drunk Chita Rivera.
If you are the first name called you get seats 101 and 102. If you are the last name called you get the partial view seats on either end(3 and 5,4 and 6). If you are the 7th or 8th person called you get dead center(108,109). I sat in all of those seats before. Dead center is great but anything in front row is great. Especially since they are only $26.25 and the people in back of you most likely paid premium prices.

I have, but the response was pointless and just c*nty. It was insulting to more than just coolkid. I have a job and I need lotto to see shows. She implied that if you can't afford full price tickets that you're an unemployed, lazy, ignorant and a number of other things. I have a job but i can't afford full price tickets. i really can't even always afford TDF tickets. I understand coolkid is an annoying twat, but timesquare3 is a ignorant, loudmouthed, c*nt.

Hanna, I've always wanted to sit house right, because from there, you have a chance to see how they make the broom fly.

Was that visible? You don't have to tell us (how it works) because of the spoiler factor...

but if you wanted to pm me...it's killing me, such a good effect.

From what people are writing, it sounds like the lotto is loosening up a bit, no?
