re: re: Hmm......

my suggestions,

i really like elija(sp?) wood as boq
if she can sing i would LOVE to see reese in galinda role

i would suggest:
Morrible- megan mullally or molly shannon
elphaba- i was thinking this girl can SANG and she can act up a storm and i think she'd do really well with the part and wouldnt be peoples likely suspect for it. kate winslet.
for dr.dillamond i would like rupert everett
and for the wizard i would like to see nathan lane take on the role.

hmmm those are my thoughts for now

Alannis Morissette is a VERY good comparison to Idina Menzel, and no I'm not being sarcastic.

re: re: re: re: Hmm......

Oooh. Dididda those are certainly interesting suggestions. Kate might work, not sure if she has the lungs of steel that we need.

Nathan as the wizard, that would bring new meaning to the show. Age him a bit and that could be my first choice!

re: re: re: re: re: Hmm......

Molly Shannon, Megan Mullally and Nathan Lane are all way too young for the roles you mentioned for each of them; Morrible is an old hag; you need an older actress to play the role, and Shannon and Mullally are way too young. Nathan Lane is wrong for the role; his voice and character is very distinctive- he wouldn't fit the role of the Wizard.

re: re: re: re: re: re: Hmm......

Back when I first read the book, I was sure a miniseries was going to be made with LeeLee Sobieski as 'Shiz' Elphaba and Helen Hunt as 'renegade' Elphaba (this was back when they both didn't make me wretch).

Instead, we got a mediocre stage show with some great performances. Go know.

Robbie? What are you holding to your face in your avatar?

And to stay on topic, Reese in Legally Blonde reminds me of Galinda so much

That photo is from happier days, when I dated a plastic shark named Pam...for a very brief period of time.

I love the musical, but wouldn't it be interesting to see a non-singing movie that is based entirely on the book? The book has so many fascinating things in it that were never mentioned in the musical, and I just think there should be another adaptation to go along with the show that's now on Broadway. I just don't think, as great as the musical is, it should be the "one and only" adaptation of this great story. And that way, you wouldn't have to worry about whether the actors can sing or not either :)

re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Hmm......

I agree-I would love to see a novel-based version on the big-screen that is not related to the musical...I wouldn't, however, mind them making a dvd/video of the musical that is playing now on broadway!! (in the same fashion as Oklahoma! and Into the Woods)

re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Hmm......

Elphaba: Idina Menzel, Galinda: Kristin or Reese, Morrible: Judi Dench, Wizard: Joel Grey, Nessa; Keira Knightley, Boq: Elijah Wood, Fiyero: Heth Ledger.

I'd pick Idina because you have so much star power already that it won't hurt the movie if you addd idina. Who knows? It could make her a star. Like Funny Girl did to Barbara Streisand.
"Sing the words, Patti!!!!" Stephen Sondheim to Patti LuPone.

"some will never learn"
the egotism never ceases to amaze me, i suppose i never will learn to not respond when i think someone is being rude and without due cause. what are you suggesting al dente, that no one should dare to challenge any of your comments?

papalovesmabo- if someone clicks on a topic and is not interested in what they see people discussing, there is no need in stating your disinterest, just move on or start a thread that does interest you.

no opinion for you!

so, nystate, you're advocating that those with differing opinions keep silent? or what? is there anything else you'd like to ban? how about those awful left handed people, i simply hate them and think they serve no purpose in society. if you can't stand criticism start yolur own website and don't let anyone else post. that way you'll never ever have to suffer the awful misfortune of having someone say something mean to you ever again.

ugh, and they can't even remember the proper terminology for deleting a [expletive deleted] curse word. i use "a" there rather than "an" since the curse word that's been deleted begins with a consonant. might i suggest that you google image search some of my ls mez cast as any of them could give you a lesson in [expletive deleted] which will surely help you when you spend the rest of your time with the lover at the end of your arm.

Dream Cast?

Umm yeah, this is kinda played out, but its fun nonetheless.

I'd say:
resse: Galinda (resse and kristen are sorta parallels of each other, ya know?)
Elphaba: Idina, i'm so creative (if it could be someone who doesn't have a MOVIE name, it would be Julia Murney b/c she would be amazing, but...)
Nessa: Anne Hathaway or Emmy Rossum
yeah thats all i got.
Il n' y a pas d'amour heureux.
