I don't know if there are a lot of stops left on the wicked tour but how many cities will Stephanie be going to? I know she's not doing SF and someone today mentioned that she might not be doing dallas and houston either so wouldn't it make sense for Eden to perform since Stephanie is injured and won't be doing the next stop? Again, I don't know how many stops Stephanie will be doing and if she does get well and does the rest of them then I would understand why she would be performing (since she is the touring elphaba).
singingbackup - where do you work? I used to work next door at the Ellen show and we'd love turning on the live feed to their stage and watching rehearsals! But, alas, they're not able to do that anymore, and I'm not there anymore so who cares. That's really cool, that commisary is the best!

it WAS good...any other thoughts?
ps...was gary busey intoxicated or under the influece of something?
Horrible.
I haven't like Stephanie at all.
I am probably the only one.
I love her other work. Just don't think she sounds right for Wicked.

me neither then... i did not enjoy her. nor kendra.
It was cute. I liked being able to see all the costumes so up close and I like seeing them all dressed up and acting out of character, like when Jay came and thanked them.
I wish Elphaba would give me her green glasses. HaHa.

Busey was no intoxicated. He always sounds/acts like that.
And the performance was good, I suppose. Kendra was adorable. I don't like Stephanie.
Honeslty, I dont care who it was I just liked seeing a Secen from wicked, Kendra was really really really bouncy

Yikes. That sucked. Kendra's voice isnt nearly high enough for Glinda ... and I don't enjoy Stephanie AT ALL. Their voices didn't mesh together well :/ How disappointing.
there always seems to be a mic problem when this number's done on tv. I think that made it seem more lackluster than it was

If I had seen this before seeing the tour I would've been worried. Not trying to make excuses, but seriously their mics seemed off and they both sounded a little weak and like their voices were clashing or something, which is totally not the case when you see it live. Both can sing as loud and clear as you could ever imagine in their songs, maybe Kendra not so much in her upper register but still. This makes them look so much worse than they are and I'm sad
I agree.

I'm kind of at a loss of words. It wasn't Horrible but it wasnt good. It was just sort of ok, which upset me a bit because i LOVE both stephanie and kendra and the show. Hmmmmm. I'm just not too sure.
~~EM~~
:- That was not good. I forget how cheesy that scene is. The stupid ribbon guy and the dancing potato heads make it look really amaturish. I LOVE Wicked and am SO GLAD that a Broadway show got some more national television exposure, but if I didn't like Broadway and musicals, I would not have been at all interested in seeing Wicked after that performance. Makes me sad.
Darn, I missed it. Once again I told myself, don't forget, and I did. Well, Tuesday (already today) I'm finally seeing the touring company of Wicked (after 3 time in N.Y.) and I'm hoping hoping hoping that both leads will perform. In the meantime, welcome to the Broadway World family, DefyingEDCT, and if that's your headshot, WELCOME!!!

Hey Steven,
I think a friend of mine may try lotto tomorrow while I'm working and if she wins she's going to call me. I'll keep my out for you if we make it. Hope you enjoy!
I have tickets for the 20th with my little bro. My family is also trying to lotto so they can see it...again.
I thought it was good, but it wasn't great. Who were those boggle things that come on when they sing something like "Who's the main event" or something like that. I don't remember. I kind of wish they had done Thank Goodness instead because the girl playing Elphaba wasn't that great. She's no Idina though.
I agree with alot of the past comments, the performance wasn't terrible, but it was good either. Their voices don't mesh well together at all. Plus I think they crammed too many people into a small space in the tonight show studio which , to me, made it seemed really crowded during the number. At one point stephanie just about slammed into one of the ozians, luckily he swerved so they didn't collide (I don't think it was choreography, it seemed like a genuine mistake; if it was choreography it wasn't properly executed). So overall the performance was alright, if I had not seen wicked before I don't think that performance would make me want to, but thats my opinion.
I think that a lot of Wicked's key numbers are done in such a way that they don't play well up close as in on television. The only good performancs i've seen them do on television have been "Popular' and "For Good"....I'd think that they'd want to go with "Popular" with it being such a crowd pleaser. But what do I know?
I thought the performance was OK. It was cute, and they both have great voices, but they didn't fit well together. There was also the mic problem, which as someone else said, always seems to happen when this number is performed on television. Oh, and I want those green pointe shoes.
Well....the costumes were nice. lol
It wasn't the worst "Wicked" performance I've seen on TV. Also, it seemed very rushed because it was right at the end.
