Wicked sold out a month in advance?

I keep checking for wicked tickets and it says there aren't any for march 20, 22, or 23. Is it normal for a show to be sold out a month in advance? I really really want to go see wicked and I thought booking a month in advance would mean there where still a bunch of tickets left. Im flying to new york from florida and its my only chance to see it. Im so disapointed lol. Maybe im doing something wrong when searching for them?

I think WICKED is sold out for about 3 months in advance. It's because of all the hype that Idina and Kristin created for the show.

since kristin and idina left, it has been a little easier to get tickets...last year i went to the gerswhin in february to buy tickets for whenever, and the soonest i could get two tickets (together and not obstructed view) was june.

There is a lottery before each show, in which you can win good seats for $25. If that doesn't work, you can try to buy cancelled tickets day-of.

Do you think they have any obstructed view? I really really couldn't care less! Im so sad lol. This was my christmas present. I feel so stupid. I should have known better

Yeah, try the cancellation line. Get there nice and early so you can get tickets!

You can always try the lottery, but there's always a hell of a lot of people there. When I went to the lottery, we estimated around 1,000 people were smooshed together in front of the Gershwin.

If there aren't ANY seats coming up on ticketmaster, it means they are "sold out", even of obstructed view. There are plenty of ways to try and get last minute seats (lotto, cancellation line, checking Ticketmaster the day before/day of), but you can't count on any of them.

God, the last time I saw WICKED (in August), I bought less than a month in advance and got orchestra seats.

That week is going to be a really huge pain to try to get cancellations or the lottery -- if I'm doing my math correctly, that's when most high schools have their spring break -- so New York will be taken over by seventeen year olds whose mommies are taking them to go see Wicked. That will be a big tourist week in the city.

lol yup. Thats me! Im happy though because avenque Q isn't sold out. If I don't see wicked I'll probably go to "I love you, you're perfect, now change"

How much does it mean to you? If it means a lot, then there are always broker tickets. They may cost up to $350 each, but they'll be great seats, and you can negotiate with a broker in advance... the closer it gets, the harder it'll be. That's what I would reccomend.

Keep trying. Sometimes tickets pop up as it gets closer to the dates you want. I got tickets that way.

I think you want to forget about the lottery and go straight for the cancellation line. The odds for the lottery aren't that good, and you'll be competing with some of those people on the cancellation line. It's best to get on the line as early as you can (I'm not sure what time it opens).

But first, keep trying Ticketmaster.

P. S. However, if you do get other tickets (broker, eBay), don't check Ticketmaster again.

I am with BWAYboi_yes... we got broker tickets only about 3 weeks in advance, and they were for the 4th row, but they were pretty expensive. But, where there's a will, there's a way!

We must have gotten lucky. Two weeks prior to the show, and we got 4 seats on an aisle in the center orchestra for the regular price.

hey, I'm sorry to hear about that. I'd probably say no the the lottery idea. That's around spring break time (I have a really early spring break starting on March 4th-and I leave for NY on the 6th) and I don't think I could even count how many people will be using the lottery during spring break! I'd say use Ebay-I got my tickets last month for Wicked on there-Row A (obstruct view ) for only 140 or 150 dollars (with shipping...psh). Ebay is THE way to go! Oh, and I'm going to see I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change in NY while I'm there too! Should be awesome! Good luck!

You may want to Broadway Inner Circle. The prices are high but not as high as brokers, and at least the money goes to the producers not the scalpers. I used them last year.

I had the exact same thing happen. I was supposed to go in March, but because both Wicked and Spamalot were sold out I moved my trip to July. Barely managed to get Wicked tickets for July, and I ordered them in December. Thats how sold out they are.

Keep checking, several times a day. If you're unlucky, just go for the cancellation line. Like others have advised, get there very early--even too early perhaps. That way you can be the first in line and are then guaranteed two tickets.

You did get lucky - for that's not common. Tickets will pop up sparatically though - so always keep checking.

The show has pretty much sold out consistantly up to months in advance - and I was told at the end of December that tickets (on the weekends and most weekdays) were completely sold out until the summer. No telling what it is now.

Pinkgurl - just keep checking on ticketmaster randomly until then, especially a day or two before the performance you want to see. And as others suggested, people can luck out on Ebay and get them for a little over face value. If you want to see it really bad it will be worth it. Good luck.
