she looks amazing!!! wow i need to get to Chicago - doesn't Ana's wig look longer than other Elphaba wigs?
Relax Joe, they were CURTAIN CALL pictures, she wasn't exactly disturbing the performance. And don't pretend like you didn't look at them, or did you just enter the thread to play the picture police?

I'm not playing picture polie - didn't I say she looked "amazing" I just noticed that her wig looked longer that's all so CHILL OUT
Sorry, let me be more specific - I was directing that at JoeKv99, not you.

I just entered the thread to play picture police.
I guess I'll have to check the signs Popular, I didn't realize they said "No photography or recording devices, except during curtain call when you won't be disturbing the performance."
And JoeGillis, sorry you got caught in wrath directed at me!
And I'm sure everytime you're driving and you see a sign with the speed limit posted you obey it, right? C'mon Joe. I'm not trying to get on your case and, beleive it or not, I see your point. All I'm saying is no harm done, that's all.
Figured it out:

Of course I follow the posted speed limit. People who don't are criminals.
Ok to answer some questions:
Kristoffer does not look 15---and, no offense to Ana, as soon as she walked out during "dear old shiz" I thought she looked a bit old for the part..but her talent makes up for that
I understand that picture taking is not promitted. But last time I was at the Oriental I took curtain call pics and no one cared. This time there was also about 4 other flashes I saw and I was in the first row so I didn't turn around to see them. They were other people near me! I thought it was a unsaid rule you were allowed to take them then-since the show is, essentially, over. and if it's bad-oh well, I got the pics for you guys!
I said Little Shop wasn't really worth the $80/$40 a ticket because while I really liked it-I've seen far better shows for less. Little Shop really was never meant to be a big "broadway" show. And after seeing it I understand that. While it was lots of fun and the talent was great (minus james moye, I thought his Orin was...NOT good but the other characters he plays came acrossed well enough) but there was something about the entire show that left me *underwhelmed*. I'm not sure it was anything the cast, producer, director could fix. I'm pretty sure that show was meant to be seen at a smaller theatre for a smaller price. Just me.
AND when you can go a few blocks away and win front row Wicked tickets for $25 and have another one of the best theatre experiences you've had...it makes that show look bad :)
I CAN NOT WAIT to see this....Ana seems to be amazing!
great pics stephanie glad you liked it!
thanks!
HEY! I thought of some stuff to add! ok Ana had a different ending to "As long as you're Mine" which I ADORED! she took a higher harmony instead of the boring unison ending--I LOVED it.
Kate took the octave up for her last note in Not that Girl reprise...which works..I think the audience is confused by the low notes normally. and Kate has the most gorgeous voice she could do anything and sound great!
Did I mention Kris fell when he swung in on the rope!? "Let the green girl go!" and then on his butt..it was real cute though! He said "oh so you got to see me fall on my kester?" or something like that when we talked to him outside..haha...
THis cast is in AWESOME condition for there 7th performance in front of an audience!
Thank you so much for the pictures. Kate looks STUNNING. I really like Ana too. Her wig looks more brown than the other wigs I've seen. Usually Elphie has black hair. I really like an older looking Elphaba. Ana looks more capable of being wicked than say...Jenna.
thanks so much for the pictures Stephanie.. they are greatly appreciated.. i can't wait to see this Chicago cast!
you're all very welcome! next time I go I'll take some more (unless they're gonna take my camera away!) and I'll have my new camera by then which should take better pics. :)
I've worked on a few different Broadway shows, and the reason you are not allowed to take pictures is because the set, performers' images, and costumes are not public property and the unions do not allow it. Those of us who work on the show were never allowed to take pictures on the stage, so what makes you think you are entitled to?
if the theatre people would take there own pictures and SELL them I'd be first in line. Since the don't do that..I want memories.
I still think there is nothing wrong with it. I'm not selling them to people...I'm sharing them with fellow theatre lovers.
Yes there is something wrong with it - the people who own the images are not giving them to you. That's why there are signs and announcements letting you know that it is prohibited.
Well..what's done is done. I don't think it's hurting anyone. I'm not making money off them--they're not losing any money because of me. If anything I'm making people want to go to the show more.
and I think the total of $250 I've spent on Wicked in Chicago helps them. Especially since I have $300 in tickets for July.
Perhaps the producers of WICKED should spend a little more time and money on updating the pictures on their website. I can't think of any other show that has such "candid" shots of curtain calls etc. up on message boards with such regularity, but that seems to be stemming from the huge popularity of the show and the fact that there are so few "legit" shots available.
None of that is the point. You can't go around making up your own rules in life. Taking those pictures is tantamount to stealing - write to the unions and ask them. They will tell you the same thing.
You are charged admission to museums also - would you take pictures of the exhibits there when there are signs forbidding it? You've paid to be there - why can't you take those images home too?
Well.....most museums let you take pictures, they just dont want you to use flash which fades paint over time.
I'm talking about the ones that don't, obviously.
Rath--I'm not gonna argue with you. It's pointless because what you say is very true and is the "law". I just don't agree with it. I also don't agree with bootlegs being illegal. They should record them and sell them at the theatre. I'd buy them! but that's a different story.
I have a question separate from this whole thing. Why does this production have such a crappy playbill? is it just an early one and soon they will have a good one? Because the show should run for at least 2 years and the playbill is horrible. so small, and no pictures of the cast!
