Does anyone have any idea about when these could be released if ever? I doubt high schools putting on Wicked or community theaters putting on Book of Mormon will make people want to see these shows on Broadway any less. Matilda could be fun for a lot of amateurs too.

Do you think a school or community theatre would even attempt to secure the rights to perform Mormon? (OK, maybe yes, but I don't know if they'd get further.)

I said high school for Wicked and community for Mormon. If community theaters and colleges put on productions of "Reefer Madness" a satire musical about marijuana then why can't they put one on about Mormons? I feel like if they could release the rights that a lot of community theaters would put this show on.
Also for the record typing replies on an iPhone is very hard. Didn't mean to have that whole reply be in a different font.
It is practically unheard of to release the rights while the initial run of the show is still playing. The only exception that I can think of is the current School of Rock.
So when? A year or two after they close. I wouldn't be suprised if the rights are very restricted at first. I would expect Matilda to be released withing that same time frame.

I think Matilda will probably be released soon after closing, but I can't think of anyone who would do the Book of Mormon (just because of how explicit it is).
^you would also need a diverse cast.

Yeah the biggest problem with Book of Mormon is there really aren't any roles for any women other than women of color. I don't think is a single woman role in the Book of Mormon for a white woman? Still I would think at some point there may be an amateur group wanting to perform this show.
